We’ve had the Mastermind board game sitting in a closet, collecting dust for decades. The directions were lost long before my siblings or I were born. Watching this video was like being given the answer to an ancient puzzle that nobody in my family could figure out!

As someone who plays this game constantly, its a lot of fun. Technically its possible to win on the first attempt but always possible to win by the 4th using process of elimination. The boys didn't do too bad and im glad they are having fun. We need more people on clubhouse games playing together

What’s the best first move, is it 2 and 2, or four different colors?

Mastermind maximum required guesses is 5. Have to account for the worst case scenario even using genetic algorithms. Usually 1123 is found to be the prefered start for algorithms.

@@TnTCinematics2012 I prefer four different colors (provided you are playing no dupe colors) there are many strategies but this works for me to deduce what is and isn't going to be there

TnTCinematics2012 if you’re playing with duplicate colors on, I usually start with all four the same color, because you can have more than one of the same color, and using process of elimination, I can usually have it in 6 guesses. If duplicate colors are not allowed, I start off with two and two, and again through process of elimination, I almost always get it in 5 (unless I let my dumb brain get ahead of me).

I used to play mastermind a lot when I was a kid. It was one of those games that was fun to play without getting frustrated. In fact, I must have enjoyed it a lot, because I've still remembered how to play it for all those years. Im pretty sure I even had a way to play with more than 2 people, even though the method wasn't very effective. If I could find the game and all the pieces, I would definetly play it.

Mastermind! I love that game. There are some strategies that work way better than others so once you know the trick it isn't usually hard to win--but it's always still *fun* to play and that's what's important.

Weird I always played Mastermind with having the little white/brown pegs actually indicate which peg positions are correct, rather than just saying any one of the four is. Also psyched to hear Arin has a Mini Cooper, that's my favorite car, but they're too small for me so idk how he fits in it lol.
