@@adampage593 Well maybe, but 1) those were not two identical Masters (if I recall correctly, one was even a woman with a completely different mindset). So it doesn't count. 2) striving for power and climbing hierarchical letters are the attributes of the natural survival that we inherited from the evolutionary process, i.e. every biological object tries to pass on its genes in order to make sure they survive as long as possible. But here, all genes are the same, so there is no need to compete, no need to evolve, no need to care about survival or power. Since The Master is not a complete idiot yet (which both he and The Doctor will become later in the series), he should be able to understand this principle.

Trey Myles to be fair there were alot of master incarnations prior to the charecters first appearance on screen. If i remember rightly the first actor to play the master was meant to be his 10th or 11th regeneration which is why the masters classic who plots mostly revolve around cheating the regeneration limit. From what ive seen, there is no confirmation that John Simm's master became Michelle Gomez's missy. It is possible then that missy is one of the 9 or 10 missing incarnations of the master that we have never seen before, which to me is a much better story that retconning round the masters apparent death in David Tennants last episode

I think you more or less got your wish? It's still not 100% certain Missy is the Master right after Simm, but we know Time Lords can change gender (we knew that in Series 9 already, since it happened in Hell Bent, and we also saw it with the Doctor a series and a bit later). And, honestly? Having rewatched seasons 8-10 a couple times since they came out, I do think Missy does a great job at being psychotic, while also being endearing. She's not as manic as Simm's Master (though Dhawan is a little like that now), but she's certainly quite scary at times.

Does The Master know how to land 747's, helicopters, or perform open heart surgery? What if they were doing an open skull surgery carefully lasering out a tumour or something and the patients head starts spinning like a scene from the exorcist. I'm betting a lot of people died that day.

For those of us who love John Simm's Master incarnation, this is a godsend. The one thing I dislike about Doctor Who is how everything, literally everything is explained by science (well, you know what I mean. It's explained somehow). "Fear Her" is a good example. They come up with some stupid reason behind how the people get turned into drawings, why? It's more interesting left unsaid. And moments like this... I just love how surreal it is. It's pulled off really well I think
