I was blessed to be sitting on the front row (in the green dress). Steve told the lady seating people that I was with them. The feeling I have now is difficult to explain.Thank you for sharing this with everyone, wish all of you could have heard them . I saw them many times as this group including a cruise went them. Jake asked my friends and I "Don't you all get tired of hearing these same old songs" No we didn't. I miss them and I can't thank you enough for sharing this I saw all of them in their groups for over maybe 40 years. I am a poor person but I have some wonderful memories of gospel music. I still have about 1000 of the large records.Sorry for the long comment, just so full of memories and dealing with medical issues.I thank God for the close relationship with them and their families.

The beautiful voice Steve "The Voice" Warren. He is the only one of these men still living. He can be seen playing piano for Wayne Newton on the Vegas Vacation movie. A talented man.

I just found this group after hearing so much about them. I may get hate replies but I like them a lot better than the Stamps. Bless J.D. Sumner and all these men, may they rest in peace.

The Blackwood Brothers Quartet did 2 RCA Victor LPs that featured Hawaiian style gospel songs. One album was titled, “Paradise Island” and the other title was, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”. The second one had a rerelease about 15 years later. Of course James did the lead part and loved the Hawaiian flare to that style. Decades later he even did a Hawaiian solo album.
