Put it in s&p 500 etfs slowly. You can use the same strategy of $500/month and leave the remaining of $200k cash in a high interest saving account. Then from that auto invest $500/month into a s&p 500 etf. This will protect a bulk of your cash even from emergencies or significant bear markets that may occur in the near future as the market is currently near all time highs.

"buy a house you can afford" This is great advice. The home loan market is so predatory. I bought my house 17 years ago (paying it off this September) and I was approved for a loan that was double what I paid for my house. If I went for that, it would have destroyed me financially. Instead, I live well below my means and save save save. Early retirement is the goal.

A couple things i wish you would mention is services that are available to most people but they never use or ask to use like metlaw which is a add on in your insurance. The other thing is and where to spend money the 500 to 1000 dollars you spend on a tax service or a good cpa will teach you tons and give you a better understanding but nobody will pay money for knowledge they would rather upgrade a tv or buy a new gaming pc.

I purchased a home, where I was able to start a lawn care business, and now I make $100k+ a year because I service all my equipment, and have a place to store it. Don’t try to time the market. It’s better to have a strategy and buy in increments. Figure out an index or three companies u believe in long term. See what’s down today. Buy a bit of what’s down. Check tomorrow, if it goes down again buy more. If another thing goes up consider selling and buying the thing u believe in that’s down. The habit makes u rich. Not a one time bet. That’s just gambling. GL. PS, don’t buy three things in the same sector (in general). Spread out ur risk.
