One of the three most haunted houses that tickled the imagination of Singaporeans in the 90s was the Matilda House in Punggol; also known as the White House.
During the years when Punggol was still under developed, there were rumours that the Matilda House was haunted and that every attempt to tear the place down were met with tragic incidences.

In this special Urban Legend Series, we unearth the stories and urban legends from Punggol and look at the history of one of Singapore's oldest settlement.
Walking through Punggol estate today, you won't be able to imagine that about a generation ago this place was a kampong area that looks nothing like the modern living landscape it is today.
