I remember seeing this movie on a trip to Florida right after it came out on video. It was at night and raining the whole way. That movie changed my world. Nobody stopped talking about these movies for the entirety of the 2000s. It was nuts.

This movie is just one of the best of the 90's period. I just watch all the movies again after watching Resurrections and even 2 and 3 aren't as bad as people say. 2 is an insane action movie with awesome stunts. It just kinda drags on a bit in places. 3 has way too much CG action that doesn't hold up great today, but the story is still interesting and the characters are great.

I dunno. The title of Greatest Movie of All Time has hard competition. One of The Greatest? That's arguably true. The Greatest Action-Sci Fi? Greatest? Hmm... I don't know if I can sign off on that. It would have to leap over films by masters like Hitchcock, Scorsese, Spielberg, Huston, and others; over movies like 12 Angry Men, The 12 Samurai, The Godfather I/II, High Noon, Casablanca, The Green Mile, Die Hard, Stalag 13, Unforgiven, Kill Bill, The Shawshank Redemption, Blade, Good Fellas, Alien/Aliens, Silence of the Lambs, The Professional, Ghostbusters, The Lord of the Rings, Terminator I/II, Jaws, Halloween, Psycho, Crouching Tiger, Iron Monkey, etc, etc, etc. But, I'd bet a lot of people feel that way. haha

My favorite scene is the one where Morpheus is walking with Neo explaining the Matrix and he gets distracted by the woman in the red dress, in that scene Morpheus is walking Normally in between the crown and the shot is clean and unshaken but on Neo the shit is shaky and the crowd keeps bumping into him very different from Morpheus he knows he's in a simulation while Neo is still unsure if this is all true and then look at Morpheus Glasses when he said "you are either one of us or one of them" in one lense Neo is shown to be there by himself and in the other there's a gun pointed at his head by an agent always loved that whole sequence

hahah, u talking bout a flu shot like it is death, it literally feels exactly like putting the tip of a kitchen knife on top of ur arm with absolutely zero pressure and then just balancce it with the side of ur hand.. try it and u know how a flu shot feels :D I love that shot of Neo and agent Smith first clashing together in the air shooting at each other, it really shows their speed which can't otherwise so easily be shown without insane slowmotion I mean they are shooting rapidly and each bullet only gets like 6 feet before the next bullet is fired :) And when he was just brushing away Smiths flailing arms in the end without looking, it was what Morpheus meant all along when he said that when Neo was ready he wouldn't need to dodge bullets because he could just "see" the code, after all the agents are just programs and every movement of theirs is just code being executed
