"The Humans Won" is far and away the best solution for the series, AND if I remember correctly in the original script the humans were being used as a network for computation. The studio heads believed that it was too complex for general audiences and wanted something easier.

The original Total Recall movie was confirmed to have all been the memory implant, according to the director. After watching Resurrections, I always thought the film would've been more interesting if Neo never awakes from the new matrix, meaning we never know if this really is a dream or his illusions. The doubt Neil Patrick puts into his mind actually got me thinking Thomas really was hallucinating the whole thing. It would've been better to never answer this question, yet still have all the matrix out of this world madness happen. Suggesting this new world either has his video game merge with reality, he is crazy, or that Neo can no longer leave the matrix because his body has died in reality, but that could question the legitimacy of Zion. They really should've played with this concept for another trilogy, only revealing the truth in the final scene, but even then it should leave questions. Sometimes it's better to leave things open, at least in a satisfying way.

Excellent Logic Logic. My father and I were really into the Matrix movies. The Matrix video game was one of the few video games he bought and Played (the others being centipede, pac-man, contra...damn I'm old now) and he thought Neo was a some type Jesus archetype. I thought that as well but see it differently now. I like the fact that you brought up the Nebuchadnezzar connection and Neo's Dreams. Neo is Daniel, Zion is Jerusalem and the matrix are the visions that Daniel has. Since his Vision supposedly spanned through current times and further . That why it so many different cultures are imbedded in the matrix that he sees in his Visions.

I always thought we scorched the sky to protect people in space, since we had cities so large sewers could fit ships seems to make sense we would have people on the moon, mars, etc and the human leadership said scorching the sky was to cut the power as a cover since they knew after the nuke strike failed that it was hopeless... So, the machines kept people alive as human shields or some humans aligned with them in the war and they continue to honor them by protecting their descendants…

Hear me out here. Matrix and terminator takes place in the same universe. Terminator's future is a prequel to matrix before the humans lost. The reason the machines confine to fight the humans in terminator and not scorch the whole planet to win is that the machines determined that humans were the greatest threat to themselves so they had to cull the population but not exterminate it. If they did then they would lose all purpose. They eventually realized a war was too risky because it would either cause the machines to lose or the humans to go extinct so in order to stay true to their prime directive to protect humans, they put them in pod where they dream simple idealistic lives.

“Alice and wonderland” is a product of The Matrix. Lewis Carol is basically the woman in the red dress. It’s purpose is to keep the mind trapped in the matrix by creating the fantasy of escaping to “an other place” but then by sayings it’s all a dream, it keeps those in the matrix rooted in the simulation

The architect said there was seven interations of The matrix. No I'm not sure if the matrix falls under the 7th version or the 8th. But each previous version of The matrix didn't click with the human experience. So why that's why seven versions had to be made in order to find out which one worked.. and humans accepted the world of The matrix. So my theory is the new matrix movie is one of those previous versions. And it's a different neo and he's not realizing he's a previous version of himself. And he hasn't taken the red pill yet. I really want to see this matrix movie just to see how it plays with the lore. And explains it.

A lot of people attribute the "it was all just a dream" cop-ou*COUGH* 'trope' to Alice but also The Wizard of Oz. BUT the thing is, the attribution to Oz only come from the movie. In the books, Oz is very real. In the 2nd book Dorothy isn't even present, and we see Oz existing without her. In the 6th book, Dorothy brings her family to retire in Oz. In other Oz books, (and I'm only counting Baum's books) Dorothy makes mere guest appearances in what are ultimately other character's stories.

I always had a theory that Neo made the Matrix. He jumped in to test it and bc its so advanced he doesn't know he's in it. Why is Neo always the one and since it's an anomaly not be random others? Plus, the machines seriously could never find him BEFORE he was told what was up to make him train and become the hero? I think each time he makes it to get out, the Matrix resets him. He's basically been in the system the whole time. Now, other characters could be other people trying to jump in and help or parts of his unconscious. Hell, he could have made the system for his wife (Trinity), and others, who are in comas. He could have hooked it up to bring her out and both were lost in it. The trailer makes it seem like Trinity is more powerful as well. So, being in the Matrix and the 'real world' is still all in a system and he/they have never come back out. The brain on its own doesn't know the difference between fantasy and reailty like twitching in dreams or wake up in tears, etc. Once he was in, his mind and the system he made went out of control. How would he know how to control it.
