I think the "born inside the matrix" isn't clever specific wording. it's just to contrast people born with the machines and plugged into the matrix versus those born outside as natural born humans in Zion. It does not need to be more complicated than that.

@Icetea-2000Ай бұрын
Yeah, that is absolutely what the writers back then meant. You have to keep in mind that this was directly after the scene where Neo suffers a mental breakdown after being shown the real world for the first time. For the audience back then this already was overwhelming, Morpheus saying that would not have a different meaning, also considering in universe how Neo would absolutely understand it in this way. There’s no reason why Morpheus would talk in riddles to Neo at a time where he’s already confused and struggling to understand the world he is thrusted in. To think "born in the matrix" in this context means anything else than just a person connected to the matrix would be overthinking it. The movie doesn’t talk about the matrix in a purely technical but rather a general philosophical way, the first act is just about Neo trying to understand what the Matrix even is.
@psevdhomeАй бұрын
@Icetea-2000 very well argued and articulated. Thank you! On a symbolic note I will say Smith is Neo's dark shadow, his mirror opposite. He hates the system but serves it. And he longs for escape. That theme is explored in the sequels: programs going beyond their programming. Smith thanks Neo for setting him free. Besides all the other "The Ones" were human as the Architect explained. So who was their program who rebelled and became the One. Oh wait there wasn't one.

You can simulate infinite time in a finite space using interesting clock tricks inside a virtual reality. So imagine this: Imagine that we have every reason to believe that our entire reality was going to end, perhaps a gamma ray burst or something that we cannot get away from as such. Scientists say we have 20 years left before it happens. Would you rather live those 20 years inside a virtual reality where you can experience multiple, nearly infinite, birth-death cycles in a virtual reality, or would you prefer living those 20 years in the reality that you fully expect will end in 20 years? You can simulate this way: At first, one second of virtual time equals one second of run time. The next second of virtual reality time happens in only 1/2 second in the real world, etc. etc., etc. A similar method can be used to live an infinite amount of time, assuming cryo not only works but also that cryo doesn't harm at all... Wake 1 hour, sleep 1 hour, wake 1 hour, sleep 2 hours, wake 1 hour, sleep 4 hours, wake 1 hour, sleep 8 hours, etc...

It’s didn’t work though did it? but yeah an infinite paradise seems perfect but that’s the condition of human nature it just doesn’t work like that and that’s what I love about the matrix!
@shanejohns790111 ай бұрын
@@peppy6906 If you lived at a time when the Earth has only ~20 years more left before an Earth-destroying event happens, you might have a different opinion. As I said above, you can simulate near infinite time in those 20 years. You could have a huge number of birth/death cycles inside that small timeframe as seen from the POV of inside the simulation. I think giving up 20 years of the planet's remaining 'life' to experience whatever reality programmers (likely with AI help) come up with would likely be preferable to most people.

I mean Matpat does have a point but i think that quote he is using wasnt supposed to talk about Smith in particular but more about the Architect or prehaps someone that is above the Achitect, Smith in all the franchise was never stated neither by the Oracle or the Achitect to be someone of more importance than the One, in fact Smith was only brought into the consideration of both because he broke from his original programing turning into a dangerous threat that could end both the world of the machines and humans as a whole, he is consider now a "virus" that must be erradicated. "The man that was born inside the matrix" i believe is the original program that created both the Architect and the Oracle, Smith was a security program designed to maintain humans on their tracks but over the years of him interacting with them started to gain sentience AKA achived singularity, something that any AI can achive in theory, you also see some other programs in the matrix that does have traits of humans while they shouldn't "programs that step out of the line and they got caught doing something they shouldn't be doing" as the Oracle said. Smith is the true One? maybe, maybe not, or maybe he is one factor of the equation not the real answer, see neo needed to merge with Smith's code in order to trigger a full on reset of the matrix because Neo was carrying the Deus Ex Machina payload, Neo worked as a Trojan but just to counter Smith's derailed code infection, and since Smith had part of Neo's code imprinted on himself when Neo destroyed him in the first movie allowing Smith to achive a even further state of singularity, Neo needed to re-assimilate this code in order to fully stop him, so its not one or the other but both being the one here.

If you go back and watch the film, while Neo is having his moment saying, "something is different now, I can feel it," one of the ships is simultaneously about to launch an EMP and ultimately does, causing the EMP's blast to reach the Sentinel just as Neo tries to stop it with his mind. Interesting point about the "switch" - didn't know my buddy yet. What is a bit missing is the mention of Schopenhauer as a major influence. Look at the book which Persephone tilts to open the secret door. Furthermore, there are interviews with the sisters, which clearly name Schopenhauer as an influence. Schopenhauer was concerned with the recognition of the world as representation, which is the world as a recognizing subject with its objects and is trapped in causality. The Quietiv is therefore the liberation, the enlightenment of this causality, in which the will is denied. The iceberg, on the other hand, goes more in the direction of Sigmund Freud. Here Carl Jung would be again the better approach, since his concept of the psyche, with a circle, and the self in the middle, as "source" or God within gives a more profound overview with less fear. Since the "source" is also part of the matrix story. The topic AI is more current than ever. Such videos make naturally attention. Who can name the whole causality chain ? Nobody can.

I don't believe agent Smith nor the Merovingian is a "previous one". Just because Monica bellucci says "he was like you". She meant, young, talented, driven and most importantly to her.. in love. He detests the Oracle because he was originally programmed to understand humans better. Ie cause and effect. The Oracle accidentally figured out "cause+effect=choice" once this happened, the Merovingian was no longer needed. He was marked for deletion and he chose to escape into the matrix and builds his empire. hoping he would somehow get the EYES of the Oracle so he could return to the source with PURPOSE. They never say how the eyes of the Oracle would reinstate his status. Monica bellucci says "on and on and on...pompous prick" because they've been hiding in the matrix for over 100 years

I always thought the first matrix was amazing because it was believable but the second two were shit because they let him have powers outside the matrix which wasn't believable anymore. I know it sounds crazy because most people would think the matrix is not a believable concept but I think it actually is and the second two instead of expanding they kind of implode it.

The difference between the analyst and architect is that while the architect focused on balance, the analyst focuses on numbers and how to increase them and after his discovery of the Neo and Trinity phenomenon and the current state of the machine city after the mass awakening and loss of power which means sacrifices of many programs were needed for sustainability the machines/programs that were to be sacrificed rose up in the analyst name because the analyst promised he has the answer and the capability to keep them or the ones they cared about alive and the energy needed.. !! But its extremely expensive and the analyst needs control of the machine city resources to do it

Regarding names: Thomas also means twin. Neo as the twin of Jesus. Also, the French Merovingian dynasty was by legend married into the line of descent from Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Jesus and Mary had a child born in France where Mary escaped to after the crucifixion.

Wow. If you do look at it in the perspective of Smith being the One, he did bring freedom to Zion, when he merged with Neo. Interesting…

“The often perceived lackluster sequels…” that phrase should never be used with regard to the matrix (resurrections excluded ofc). If you don’t think the sequels were as good as or better than the original, you just need to rewatch them. I felt the same way until I was old enough to actually comprehend all the philosophy. The original focused more on action with philosophical undertones but the sequels were the reverse. And they are all the better for it.

Im not sure if this has ever been discussed.. but what about the theory that the rescue of Morpheus was a test. If he rescued morpheus than it would prove to the oracle that he would be able to save 1 person.. instead of them killing off morpheus in the ship which would "save humanity" like it would have with the choice to save trinity or the world by restarting the matrix

Whatever happened to that Matrix game they showed with Unreal Engine 5, that looked so good in the preview?? I seriously wish they would make new/ more (good) Matrix video games for consoles. Or for PC, I guess? Although just personally, I tend to prefer console type games. Even a reworked/ remastered version of the old 'Path of Neo' games would be amazing I think. They were awesome and ahead of their time in many ways, imo. I would love a newer version of that same game, with updated graphics & game play. If they even just kept updating and putting out new missions or chapters, I would gladly buy another installment each year. Like the way they do with nonsense stuff, like Madden or Halo or Gears of War or whatever. Which I don't particularly care for. *Cough Cough! Hint to developers. Stop making these crappy, repetitive themed games, and terrible mobile games... And actually make good console games again. There's a whole market of people like us out here, who do not like these low effort releases like PUBG or Roblox or MineCraft. More campaign games like GTA and RDR or God of War or The Witcher, would be lovely. Possibly one with a Matrix theme, huh?? Now that's a fun idea, right there. 🙂 Think about us gamers who grew up on video games, but who are a bit older now, and don't accept this mediocrity that you get away with currently. I beg of you! 🙏🏻 How do I accomplish this, please? Lol *Super interesting and well thought out video, right here, btw. Top notch, my friend. 👍🏻

I hope, when they inevitably remake this trilogy, I hope they don't hold back and have the creative freedom to make the Matrix the way it was meant to tell its story.

Never gonna happen, because of this reasons: 99,99% of people could not handle it - It would mean that we then could possibly know how to destroy the matrix, hence the globalists would die and the demons they are possessed by would give them hell in hell.

Neo is born in the matrix, the world that Zion is in is in another matrix, it’s called the Golden Prison, also Neo is an anagram for One and Agent Smith is Zero which makes the pair for Binary programming

The matrix is a depressive after life service and Thomas Anderson is the last customer "alive". If Thomas Anderson die, the computer shut down. And Cyberpunk 2077 is the last reboot of Thomas Anderson, He is so burned he can't imagine himself alive, he imagine himself as the copy of his own soul.

Way off. Sequels just went over your head. I agree they’re not that good, but you can see they were driven by their vision and what truth they wanted to share about enlightenment. We’re not in it to make a fun, interesting, action packed movie - wanted get their point across

The Scary Thought is the Humans likely allowed the Machines to take over, providing us with a Simulation that would mimic the High times of human civilization; Meanwhile, do to the expansion of the sun, the machines were likely drifting the planet away into empty space, and using humans to create some type of self sustaining system that would allow the machines to survive in the darkness of space; They could likely drift to other stars to absorb their energy and continue this until the end of the universe.
