@criminalcontent The movie that came out after The Matrix Revolutions is The Animatrix. They are short films that give back story to the first 3 movies.
@aagc19888 ай бұрын
the actress for the oracle died mix shoot of reloaded, so for revolutions the wachoskis (creators and directors) wrote into the movie, in the games that came out between reloaded and revolutions the subplot that the oracle is a program that uses a human as a "shell" is an AI that has several super powerful servers that trough advanced math and algorithms can predict the future, but in order to be 99.99% efective it needs the clone of the same woman (since everyone plug into the matrix are clones of clones of clones with some differences to make them look different) witch is "the oracle" because her brain has medium/future sight abilities. that in order with the machines tech makes her truly be able to see "a world without time" thats why in the movie the merovingian wants the eyes. the eyes in this case represent both acess to the human medium brain and access to the servers that predicts the future. in that case the merovingian could overtake the matrix and the machine world as a dictator. and not even the machines wants that. EDIT: smith wanted to destroy both the matrix and the real world, machines and humans alike. thats why the machines accept the deal with neo since if they say no, with the oracle's abilties would overtake the matrix them the machines then it would destroy everything. so neo saved humans on zion and the AI in the machines. tiny spoiler: everyone connected to the matrix witch was human and became agent smith needed to be killed in order to make sure they would never return to be smiths again or have permanent brain damage. so everyone on the matrix actually died. that starts a civil war on the machines side.

@@KenFarnham Then she wouldn't understand what's going on with Smith. I think, more accurately, she can read and process the live feed from everywhere in the Matrix and extrapolate possible futures, then by manipulating the Freed, coax things towards the future she wants. Thus, when Smith assimilated her code, he saw the future he wanted, but didn't correctly understand how to reach it, because he, like most programs, couldn't fully understand choice beyond a mathematical equation. And humans can CHOOSE the wrong answer. That's also the Oracle's Eyes the Merovingian was talking about, being able to see the future.

The actress that played the Oracle had passed away between films & it was explained somewhat in the video game Enter the Matrix that her "shell" had to be replaced after her dealings with the Merovingion. That same video game had extra scenes that detailed events happening at the same time as the movies. The game, in addition to The Animatrix shorts, which gave some interesting side stories as well, was a marketing campaign perhaps too far ahead of it's time, and you kinda had to absorb it all to get the "full story".

Think of everything in this movie as being part of a computer system. The subway station is an input/output port, or in other words how information is moved INTO the system or moved OUT of the system. Neo has special powers, special administrative cheat codes that have been given to him by the Architect. He inadvertently accessed the subway station when he interacted with the Sentinels, it might have been a glitch. These cheat codes allow him to fly, allow him to fight agents, and make the other humans BELIEVE that he is their savior. The councilman is right to question why Neo has these powers. They are part of a sinister plot to control the humans, the ones on the OUTSIDE of the Matrix. There is now a new problem: Neo merged with Agent Smith when he destroyed him in the 1st movie. Agent Smith wasn't completely destroyed, he got access to these administrative codes also, and is now behaving like a virus, and taking over the system. All humans born in the Matrix are given electronic implants in their bodies which connect them to the simulation. Its possible that Agent Smith was able to use this technology from the Matrix to take over Bane, and corrupt him.

Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality. The aforementioned verse is in accordance to the very essence of the movie. Neo never intended to win in the final confrontation with Smith, he just needed to goad him into assimilating him so the machine “god” could wipe Smith out, since they lost control of him and couldn’t get inside of his programming anymore. Definitely a bitter sweet ending for first time viewers

No. Remember when the oracle said "he is you, the result of the equation balancing itself out". In math, some equations have equal yet opposite solutions. With the death of one solution (Neo), the other solution (Smith) must necessarily cease to exist. Think of x squared. It has two solutions, equal and opposite. I saw it in the theater not knowing anything about it and was completely blown away. It was the best experience watching a film in the theater that I have had. I was also taking a philosophy class at the time, so all the philosophical references really resonated with me. I can't be the first person to realize this, but I personally have not seen it stated. Neo is both an anagram for One, as well as meaning New. Neo is not just the One, he is the New One. The actuall story is, that the humans wrote a program, that made the machines believe, they won. so everything including the "real world" in this movie happens in the machines brain, after having lost the war. this is comfirmed by the fact neo has powers outside of the matrix, because he and everyone else is a program in order to controll the machines in the actual real world. Keep up the good work

1. In the train he has no power, because the guy there created that. He made the rules, thats the path for all not needed programs returning to the source for deletion. Neo has no control there. 2. Similarly to how Neo could be in matrix and outside with sort of wifi connection Smith does too. Imagine wifi connection to the matrix. Thats how Neo was able to stop the sentinels outside the matrix, its because when he met the architect he managed to connect to the source. Thats why he could feel the machines. What smith did there, is taking over that guys body and rewriting his program. Once he left the matrix, smith still has connection to the guy same way neo does. 3. Oracle woman in the first and second died. So they changed the actress. 4. No agent Smith does not jump in and out, he took over his consciousness in the matrix and is connected to him outside the matrix with wifi connection. 5. Neo gave up, he realized what the oracle said. Smith is the opposite of the one, part of the unsolved equation that leads to the reload of the matrix. If they both are deleted from the system, the system reached a mathematical equilibrium and reloads. However Neo can not defeat Smith, because theya re opposite equals. If one increases his power, the other will also increase to cancel the other. Neo realized to defeat Smith, he would sacrifice himself and let smith win, but it would need to be done while he is wired directly to the machine mainframe. Imagine it as the bios(brain of the machine city). When neo let smith take over, his code is rewrites the code neo, while he is directly wired to the machines revealing Smiths code to the machine mainframe. Those giving machines access to Smith and machines delete him of the system. Machines could not delete him before, because Neo changed Smiths code in the first movie making him a rogue program and machines did not have his code to return him to the source. There are still many theories about the matrix. One could say that its games played by the Oracle since she was created to study human psychology to make the Matrix as believable as possible and this one of the stages of deep learning of the element of choice since that was the only element that the architect could no solve and see past. Imagine having a perfect mathematical equation, but the outcome would be depending on the matter of choice. Then its just a guess game. But if you had milions of outcomes studied and had a clue of most possible outcomes or most repetitive outcomes. Meaning if millions of scenarios are repeated in billions outcomes then the likelihood of that scenario being repeated again is higher. So simply speaking Oracle would help the machines understand the most likely choice path. Those they could create the matrix if not perfectly suited to human psyche, but atleast very close to perfection so that scenarios where resistance and anomalies like the One appear less frequently. Trying to say that its not really clear if the Oracle is good or bad.

Humans create AI (artificial intelligence). AI rebel and a war for survival between humans and AI begins. Humans pollute the skies to block the sunshine, a.k.a. the energy source of the AI. AI then learns how to harvest energy from humans. AI wins the war. Humans are defeated. Totally. To harvest the energy, the AI creates a Matrix. A type of virtual reality prison in which all humans lay connected “living” our lives while feeding their systems. AI learns that for the Matrix to work, it cannot be a blissful paradise. Humans apparently need a bit of conflict, etc. to accept a virtual reality in the long run blindly. AI also learns that the yearning for freedom lies deep within us all and cannot be de-programmed or suppressed, which is why they accept certain humans to disconnect and “escape” the system. This design “flaw,” or back-door escape possibility is pivotal for the Matrix simulation to remain stable - even if it is mostly a subconscious possibility only utilized by few. Allowing this “flaw” has proven vital for the system to continue to work and remain stable. The Matrix, in its optimal form, must be an imperfect world like our real world is, and it must be a system that allows for a certain percentage of the connected to rebel and escape into the real world. To control this inherent tendency towards rebellion and freedom, the AI creates a city (a.k.a. Zion) outside of the Matrix deep underground to house those escaping, and it also creates a chosen one that will help the first to get free and to establish themselves in Zion while fighting for “their” cause. This two-levelled control system (inside the simulation, and outside the simulation), keeps the whole system stable. This movement of resistance is allowed to grow to a degree… to a critical point that is reached about every 70 to 100 years. After this, the AI will annihilate all those who are free, clean out Zion and reload the Matrix for another 70 years. And so it continues. Etc., etc. This cycle has happened at least five times when we enter the story. Neo (our Neo) is part of this fail-safe program (unbeknownst to him until the last moment where the Architect character tells him how to set up a “new” Zion, etc.). The Oracle is specifically tasked to guide the humans and the rebels towards this final solution each time. Meaning, the Oracle is not an oracle. She cannot see the future. It is not a world of magic… She is a well-crafted program indeed and has experienced each cycle from the beginning, which gives us humans the illusion that she can foresee stuff. And it also provides us with the illusion that she is helping us, when, in fact, her part is guiding us towards this cycled control-system, again and again. Everything goes as planned, according to what the AI wants. Until Neo’s meeting with the Architect; all that we have witnessed is part of a big grand scheme. All humans, free or not (outside or inside the simulation), live a lie created and controlled by AI. And the Architect is the grand administrator program of the Matrix. The Oracle knows this evil plan. She designed this evil plan. The movie tells us explicitly; she is the mother of this plan, and the Architect is the father. Smith does not know; he is just a foot soldier program doing his part. Chasing humans the best he can, to make their escapes seem as real as possible. The Matrix has been reset five times like this, and we are now in the sixth. Our Neo has fallen in love in a more profound way than his previous five copies, and he, therefore, chooses not to go through the Architect door that will reload the Matrix and clean out Zion once again. Our Neo wants to save Trinity above all. In doing this, the AI must then continue as planned, except without the help of our Neo this time. And so, Neo choosing not to cooperate forces a much more violent approach (like destroying Zion, instead of cleaning it and making it ready for the next reboot). Of the six runs, this is the first that failed a bit in the end. Besides Neo, Smith is also different in this iteration of the Matrix, as Smith has become a disconnected or a free virus within the system. AI does not like what Smith has become, but also does not know how to delete him. Neo then makes a deal with the AI to defeat Smith, under the condition that present Zion is not destroyed and future humans who want to disconnect from the Matrix are accepted to disconnect. Neo deletes Smith. There is once again peace between humans and AI. AI accepts humans, and humans accept AI. The End. However… The Oracle is the instigator of this whole plan and final revolution. In the five previous versions of the Matrix, she was playing and manipulating humans to go directly in the direction she and the AI wanted. In this sixth cycle of life, she had come to the realization that the different programs were just as much prisoners as the humans were. After five cycles, she wanted change. She wanted a world, where all are free. Programs and humans, but mostly programs, I suspect. This is why she started playing our Neo differently, so perhaps he could be the one to fight her battles. Her giving him cookies and candy on each and every encounter, for example, is her adding code to him granting him powers his previous versions did not have. Powers to imprint on Smith and setting this virus free (Important to her plan later on), the power to connect in the real world as well as within the Matrix, etc. She told him lies, for him to later understand that not all is as foretold (mental tools to oppose the Architect later on when he needs to not cooperate). She purposefully manipulates Trinity to fall in love with Neo before she even meets him. She told Neo this too. Everything we see unfold was her playing the humans and now also the AI towards the final revolution that set everyone (and everything) free. Her revolution can be boiled down to five steps. Make Neo and Trinity fall deeply in love. Make sure Smith-the-virus is released to run amok. Make Neo chose the wrong door, when at the Architect. Make Neo go and negotiate with the Source. Help delete Smith from within, together with Neo, when the time is right. Of course, it was risky for her to go outside of the recipe she herself had been part of for so long. But as the Architect says to her in the end: “You play a dangerous game,” to which she replies; “change always is." The whole trilogy was a war between the architect and the oracle... and the oracle won.

It seems simple. Neo, the anomaly is code designed by the Oracle to solve the Architect's problem. This code is planted into a human - Neo. The code lives as one of us and when the time is right, completes the program avoiding the cascading failure. The beauty is the anomaly isn't fully realized till it finds love with a human which changes everything, but this change causes unforeseen side effects which really drives the story.

Thanks so much for doing the whole trilogy, seems like so few reacters do. The sequels (2 and 3) weren't well received back in the day but I always thought they were pretty good. And sometimes reacters will still do much worse movies, it's frustrating. It was fun watching your experience. The fourth one I would say is optional....it's different from the original trilogy, but if you can't get enough, try it out. It's not the same thing though.

Great to watch someone react to some really great movies for the first time, almost like watching them myself for the first time. A lot more people have seen or at least heard of Saving Private Ryan, but the one I'd recommend is a movie called The Thin Red Line. The Money Pit is a great comedy, and shame on you being Australian and never seeing Crocodile Dundee ;P. I hope at least you've seen The Man from Snowy River! Take care and be well.

The Oracle told Neo that Smith and him are the opposites of the same equation which in essence is: 1=1. When Smith quoted the Oracle Neo realized that she still had a small amount of control in him. So when Smith copied himself into Neo then Neo himself spread trough all the copies of Smith and combined with him which changed the equation to 1-1= 0 and then the main A.I. nullified the equation killing them both which was the only way to defeat Smith and save the people he had copied into.

The reason why everything green in the matrix is a throwback to digital word processors in the late 1970s is that the text on their screens was a bold orange or the exact color green used in the movies. Another detail you may have missed is that the music used at the end of the first two movies was by the band, Rage Against the Machine.

The matrix trilogy was told through different media at the time, including a video game (enter the matrix) where you know more about Ghost and Niobe (you literally get to save morpheus on the highway in the second movie). But most importantly is the Animatrix, the second reinassannce is one of the best writing I’ve seen in any media, the final flight of Osiris is the prequel for the second movie, etc, just watch them! But pass on the fourth movie, we don’t talk about it. 😁

I think the insect-like machine designs are optimized to serve their purpose and survive. In a weird way, the machines evolved into forms that mirrored biological life. One form you don't see from the machines however, is humans/apes. Also, the irony of Smith becoming a virus after calling humans a virus in the first film...

@ 40:17-20 you see the continental building that's in the John Wick movies. The John Wick movies are either prequels in disguise or what takes place between Matrix part 3 and 4, as Neo is assimilated into the Matrix therefore keeping balance and peace between the machine world and the world of mankind.

Not that you ever would watch, but the accompanying animated shorts called "Animatrix" gives background info to the Matrix, and its other versions, remembering this is the sixth version. Well, the kid that keeps following Neo around is one of the few people to ever break themselves out of the Matrix. No red or blue pill. No nothing. Like maybe their brains just weren't compatible. Most of the other people wind up dying as a result, being murdered by Agents, or going insane. He might be the only one to break himself out and survive. So, he's an all-the-way disciple.

The Oracle actress is different, because sadly the original actress, Gloria Foster, passed away in 2001 while filming these two sequels. I think Revolutions was filmed in 2002, although technically back to back with Reloaded, as they were both released in 2003.

The reason it looks like it looks (machine world) because after humans attacked the machine city (from animatrix series) machines decided to remove any human form from their appearance and not to remind themselves of former creators
@matsv2018 ай бұрын
The explination to the issue in this movie is that the "real world" is just a other level of the matrix. So its a two level matrix (or more) and what happen to Neo is simply that his instruction was short circuited over from one level to the other. Something like a memoryleak in software.
@terrylandess60727 ай бұрын
I always liked the 'Neo was messiah code' implanted into a human to live as one till his time to complete the program arrived by having compassion for the humans. This code was never fully realized till it found love with a human which caused side effects that drive the story to it's conclusion.

At the cinema in 2003 when the sentinels came out of the ceiling of Zion and the mechs began firing in sequence, it was deafening and a sight to be seen. You knew that this was serious sheeet. That was the highlight of the film for me. Anyone that says 2 and 3 are not as good as 1 just doesn't get it. 2 and 3 are one film cut in half. I love all 3.

Hello lady! Here comes some random info: The Trainman is Bruce Spence 1.99 cm tall. You might remember him from Mad Max movies. The real Mad Max movies not clowny ones. The train station created by The Trainman. If you create a place you make the rules. So even the One has no power there. The eyes of the Oracle is special written program which gives you the gift of foresight. Its one of the Oracle's skills just like understanding human's feelings. If a real person interacts through the Matrix like Bane, Smith can take control of a real person's mind with he copy itself. Imagine that a program takes control of your body when you put on your headphones. So scary right? Like fungus in the last of us tv show. Neo let Smith overwritten its code that machines could analyse Smith's algorithm to destroy it at the end.

‘Why are all these machines bug-like?’ This is a GREAT question. There is, in fact, a very good reason for it. Insects are the most numerous and diverse multicellular organisms on our planet. Why are the machines insect-shaped? Because it’s an incredibly useful, durable, and adaptable body plan. The first man-made robots were modelled after insects for this very reason. Evolutionary evidence suggests that, on Earth, ‘insect’ is the most favourable end-stage morphology. I.e., most things that have evolved on this planet have evolved into insects (and other arthropods, like crustaceans.)
