The MNI shines in FW space. I like to fly mine with arties personally. Also, if you're engaging at those ranges with rails, you should consider using Thorium instead of Anti-matter

If you're willing to drop a faction scram on it, that "twilight zone" you mentioned becomes a very real thing that you can capitalize on, particularly if you're running an AB fit in low sec. You can also fit a second DDA if you do this which makes the damage output pretty respectable.

I like this ship in FW, because it is underestimated. You can really catch kiters off guard. I like to fly it with a faction plate and a aar plus t2 AB. about nullsec i agree, it is not the best because of the harsh fitting restrictions an the need for mwd.

run a 5mn mwd, tech 2 scram, and a med shield ext. in mids, a dmg control 2, nano and 2 dda's in low, and if your skills allow 2 small gatlings in the highs... i run warrs and acolytes for drones, and you will be too fast to tackle and scram range bonus allows you to kite at speed while drones pick away
