My wife and I have seen them 4 times live and recently saw Raul play a solo acoustic set and they are one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen and his voice is absolutely amazing. Even though I'm an old Metalhead, I fell in love with the band 20 years ago and I never get tired of their music. I'm at the point in my life where I only listen to great music, doesn't matter what the genre is.

Saw them last night in Winnipeg. If you ever have the chance to see them live don't miss them. 1400 people at the Club Regent Event Center dancing and singing. They played for an hour and 20 minutes then came back out to play for another 40 minutes. What a party!

They (mostly Texans) say "Everything is bigger in Texas.". This performance certainly was, it was MASSIVE! The Mavericks and Raul were red-hot here, not a stray note nor a missed beat anywhere--not that anyone would have noticed, the atmosphere was so electric! I saw then in Glasgow, they were great, but this one in Austin, Texas knocked it right out of the park into the next state!

They came to Australia on a small promo tour and played at the Gympie Muster a few years ago ... a small out of the way place about an hour from my place ... it was the best hour I have spent driving .. One of my all time favourite bands ... after the gig they came out to meet the fans ... I spoke to Paul the drummer ... what a drummer and what a lovely guy ... I am a drummer myself but he blew me away ... then I shook Raul's hand and told him he was the first singer I had ever seen with steam coming off his back ... there were about 10 musicians on stage that night including about 6 guitarists and no one overplayed ... one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life ..... and I have seen them all .

I am alone now since my husband passed and he was a musician that travelled all around Canada and a lot of the States around with "Three Penny Opera" to Ontario, Toronto, Kenore, Fort Frances and on and on and Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Saskatoon, Regina, Edmonton and allover :-) Don opened for a lot of big singers in Canada, Charlie Major, Ricky Skaggs, Tommy Common, and opened for so many singers in Canada and travelled to North and South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and on and on :-) I love these guys! Everyone in the band play so well together, Love the Mavericks songs too and their MUSIC for sure
