I've always said that Hyman is crazy underrated. Remember when Kunitz played for team Canada? Everybody was saying WTF is this guy doing here? Simple, he gets puck possession, passes it off and then goes to the net. Pretty close parallel. Team Canada dominated that year, let in a total of three or four goals for the entire tournament. Crosby/McDavid/McKinnon truly shine when they have someone to get puck possession for the team. I'd also like to mention that's why Crosby is still elite, he can still dig in the corners and small areas and get himself puck possession FOR HIMSELF, even at the end of his career.

I haven't followed any of the 4 Nations discussion, but not having Russia in it does make the tournament feel a bit weird, random and meaningless (to me). You could make a decent argument that any of Russia, Canada, or US are the #1 hockey nation in the world. (Other countries like Sweden are obviously great too, but they're too small in comparison.)

Benn is on this team incase the Tkachuks give us a hard time. its kinda the perfect team, you could throw robert thomas on it, but i wanted to respect the vets considering it was their primes where they werent allowed to compete.

If he has another 50 goal season with McDavid then its just plain pettiness and stupidity to not pick him, plus chemistry matters which those 2 have plenty of so it just makes sense. Exactly. It's not as if the hockey players started the "war". They need to rethink this. Have a Russian team and an European team sans the two teams already in it. Then you have six teams and it's automatically more competitive. Do a round robin and we're good. Not that hard to make it a better tournament.

Crosby is still the best player in the league, despite everyone believing McDavid is the best. Crosby has 3 cups and numerous gold medals. He's still an over PPG, and a solid two-way player. I would say McDavid would be the best but he's yet to prove himself. He has potential, but Crosby has him beat in two-way play, leadership, and mental and physical strength, while still having a similarly high hockey IQ and nearly equally skilled in playmaking and scoring. Crosby hit his prime during the goal-drought era and was still able to maintain over 30 goals per season.

Crosby is my favorite player of all time but Mcdavid is the best in the league currently. I much prefer Crosbys style of game as I find it more entertaining to watch how he reads the game and generates plays but Mcdavid speed and talent is undeniably better than anyone else playing right now.
