I'm not a Billie fan, in fact ive always thought she was kinda annoying and now I feel absolutely awful and understand she was branding herself a certain way for the first album to help breakthrough into the mainstream (her songs were good though). This is honestly one of the best songs of this style I've ever heard. The melody is so simple yet encapsulating and the lyrics made me connect with it straight away. This woman is the future. I feel she is only just beginning and for some reason I feel she's going to be a huge Diana-like figure - and yes I'm serious. She will do many other things outside of music, but similar to Gaga she is saving a lot of her talents for later. We have only seen a tiny fraction of what she is capable of and there's much more to come.

For those who thought the success of "WWAFAWDWG?" was a fluke, Billie has an answer: nope. Maybe it's her synesthesia, but Billie is a master of making her visuals perfectly match her songs. And I love her growth and the beautiful way she uses specific instances to expose, and make us FEEL the creepiness of any abusive power dynamic. BILLIE. HITS. HARD.

@@bellaurs6904 Actually it's not that hard really. First thing you do is you listen to the lyrics of the song, then you figure out what the song is about. Once you figure out what the song is about, the first thing you do is ask yourself is this about Billie. And for die hard Billie fans they'll know that she was in a relationship that was abusive. And they will also know that she was 16 in this relationship. And that the guy was 22. And soon it will hit them that there's 16 songs in the album and they are 22 seconds of silence in the video. And they just put the pieces together. It's not rocket science, a bunch of 15-year-old girls figured this out before the video was even over.

There is no benefit of the doubt for this man; he took advantage of her, he dated a MINOR knowing damn well that people her age (and lower) is vulnerable, and he did not take accountability in the end. This song is about narcissistic abuse. Couldn't be more obvious. The snake represents the slow and insidious choke hold that narcs have on their prey, that lingers even after the narc has thrown away the person they were feeding upon. It's an abuse of power. Eilish is not only singing about her own experience with this abuse, but what she has witnessed in at least one other friend.

Do you guys think this is a stunt song? The song might be actually about the music industry and how gripping it can be especially when you consider a person like Billie who quite literally rose to fame with just one album and is so young. With the lyrics, you see a pattern too as everything applies to the industry except for those last lines in the verses (the clothes and the age). As if she had to change the last lyric in the verse to make it "obviously" about a relationship and not the music industry to save her career/future in the industry... ionno

People need to be more aware how much of a problem grooming is, it is normalized in our society. Sadly people that are in these relationships cant and dont want to see how bad they are, because their abusers give them the feeling of being special and that they are in control, when in fact they are the victim. You are not mature for your age, we all thought we were. I did too back then, now i know better. To this day I carry these scars with me. If you are in a situation like this, please know that you are not alone and i am here for you, you are worthy, your experience is valid, you are not making this up, someone else will love you unconditionally, things will get better, i promise. If you need help dm me or look for abuse support organisations in your area. Talk to your friends and family, call it out when you see this kind of behaviour. love y'all

Don't be so quick to judge the age gap between both of them as abusive objectively speaking. How we see it pretty much depends on our own values, in which vary accordingly with time and space. As an example, I'm from Brazil, here, this is seen as much more normal than there in USA (The minimum consent age here is 14, there could be 16-18 depending the state).
