Called a bluff from a guy who was just visiting our $2 $2 table. He had enough chips for $5 $3. Knew if I checked he would bluff, from his personality. He then laughed at my AQ. I said well now I won't do it again. Was good humor not angry laughing.

This is really well put together. I enjoyed the back and forth between the analysis and how the hand went down in real time on stream .

I am not too sure this play is backed by GTOw here as the actual turn bet is 75% from villain (instead of 125%) and the river bet is like 155% , while in GTOw its just 70% potbet. I suspect we would need to fold more of those 0 EV bluffcatchers if we more than double his betsize OTR. And probably AQo would become a pure fold than because of the price

You mentioned node blocking to see how solver would play with villains bet size, did i miss when you showed it in the video ?

The OB size makes Jx way less likely in practice, and 99/TT non existent. Looks like a nice spot to bluff catch any AQ+ pure if we still give them all the bluffs. NH

hi idk if anyone will see that but why is ako not a hero call, we are blocking as much value or am i missing something?

nice hand, bit of a complicated way of playing it tho. despite aq being one of the best check backs. on a board where people are betting very linear and we can have all the sets i'd rather just bet flop and take it down. dont think people find x/r too often even tho they should, and if they do then we still have a hand which can call.

how are you going to show a sim with SPR 0.7 for your river decision when in game SPR was 1.4 otr?
@TomRauhe

Except that overfolding rivers is a thing. This mainly depends on the villain and his capabilities rather than GTO. Very VERY few people are willing to overbluff their entire stack on the river after an overbet on the turn got called. The next problem is that by calling, you want to communicate something to villain based on you playing another 100.000 hands against him (because that's what GTO is based on). News update : you won't. Mostly because you AND him is all in with a call.

18:23 how does AQ do a better job at blocking value compared to AK? there are 18 combos of value hands containing a queen and 30 combos of value hands containing a king. i dont understand. maybe you are trying to just say that overall AQ is a better calling hand because it doesn't block as many bluffs as AK does?

I am so lost at the end...AK blocks KTs K9s bluffs (6 combos excluding common cards KK/QQ/KQ) blocks KJs KJo value (12) AQ blocks QTs bluffs (3) and blocks QJs value (3). So facing the jam with AQ you are facing 1:2 bluff to value but with AK you are facing 1:1 bluff to value but we are suppose to call at some frequency with AQ but not AK? What am I missing?
@DjEfali
@DjEfali 5 ай бұрын
When an opponent bets 75% of the pot on the river, his bet should be 30% bluff and 70% value. Accordingly, there are fewer bluffs in the opponent’s bet than value hands. And since there are fewer combinations of bluffs in the opponent’s bet, it is more important for us NOT to block bluffs (because 1 bluff combination out of 30% is 3.3% of the range, and one value combination out of 70% is 1.4%). You yourself wrote that AQ blocks only 3 bluff combinations, and AK blocks as many as 6 combinations. Therefore, it is better call with Q, but not with K
@keithnapier5076
@keithnapier5076 5 ай бұрын
@@DjEfali ahhhh I think I understand now. In villains overall range there are more bluff combos available when we hold AQ and that could push him to be bluffing >30% and thus be over bluffing. Thank you!

I thought the "the mechanics of..." videos were way more theoretical and profound ,honestly this looks like just another video or hand review made by cegee or any other reg in his youtube channel,nothing really new. Maybe a better title would be: "why did I bluff catch this hand? featuring cegee".Anyway thanks!

Talking about MDF in the real world is totally nonsense, this spot is incredibly -EV to bluffcatch vs the majority of the people.
@Psyduc
@Psyduc 5 ай бұрын
You play with fish that's cool but how is GTO totally nonsense... even if you play with people that can't bluff you still need to know MDF so that you can adjust your calling frequency accordingly. Fish just means they have different ranges than the solver but your whole thought process and idea is still the same. Claiming GTO doesn't apply in real world is just lazy excuse for not trying to think more.
