------------------------------
Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

Disappointing! He showed promise out of the gate esp showing how it’s the commercial media that always seems to have the final last word. What, it’s only the liberal media that’s bought? Ever count how many big pharma ads are ran in just one news show on Fox? Who do you think controls the vaccine industry?? Same folks running those ads!! That CBS/60 Minutes piece on the Kamala interview about Israel prob lost her the election, if she at all had a standing chance among democrat supporters, as it made her look like she’s just another Israeli sell out like THIS GUY!! Notice how he leads your opinion on every issue. You’re to throw your support to Israel and discount any further criticism about the reported abuses in Gaza, esp a potential genocide; you’re to throw your support to the border accusations about Latin Americans coming over the border with drugs and killing and raping our women and being the main cause behind our economic woes. What, you want to apply for one of these jobs these “illegals” do; to work at a CAFO with feces so toxic due to the GMO feed and subsequent antibiotics these poor animals are shot with so they can live long enough to make it to your morning breakfast table but who’s POOP is literally too full of viruses and all kinds of toxins that it legally can’t cross state borders. And you think it’s freedom to be allowed to eat your pork if you choose. Because as long as those Mexicans within the CAFOs and the other toxic chemical environments BigAg creates are demonized then their reports about these heinous conditions at these CAFOs will continue to be suppressed and you’ll ultimately be controlled by BigPharma whose aim it is to disconnect the consciousness of our symptoms from their cause and whom are the real people behind our economic woes via the shares they own on Wall Street and the private equity firms they own and run and they’ll continue to make trillions off of us and control not only our speech, but our health, our thoughts, and our whole world. Hello the levers of the one world government. Cause if you do the real deep historical dive into the rabbit hole you see all paths lead to Israel. It’s the Sanhedrin crucifying Christ all over again for Two thousand years they’ve been at it!! Trump wants to end the wars. Really? Then hold him accountable because they’ve been grooming him to take out Iran for them for decades. As it’s the Suez Canal and the straight of Hormuz they want to control in order to circumvent the trade coming from China that makes up 30 percent of the trade worldwide. And what for, because their weapons alone can’t take out China and Russia and the whole third world that’s rising up against four plus hundred years of abuses by the West. This guy is a sellout and his talk wouldn’t have made it to the top of the search bar if what he wasn’t worthwhile to them!!

Larry's pride in what the American press used to be shines through as does his dismay in what it has become is clearly evident. They, the MSM, wont see it but more importantly the American people will. They ( MSM) won't change, they can't change their time is over. James Madison's vision will continue on the platform on which this speech was delivered. Brilliant as per usual from Hillsdale. I am a Brit and hope we can learn from this . God Bless the USA.

This is my third time watching it since it was posted. It's diabolical how the media gets to the viewers psychologically with their wording...."As you know..." Just enough of a nudge to make us believe what they're saying is 1...true 2...well known knowledge 3...that the person It's directed at is deliberately lying. News anchors are just slimeballs passing off their narrative to the sheeple.

Thanks for the enlightenment and humor. I never really considered that the “freedom of the press was for us and does not necessarily just apply to journalists. When we begin to find that we want to have freedom from the press it is time to reevaluate our position on what the Constitution actually is saying to the people and guaranteeing our freedoms.

I love this timely presentation. The entire country needs to hear this! Mr. O'Conner has highlighted a major issue, namely the current state of the freedom of the press. It is truly tragic that our country is squandering this precious freedom. You would think that journalists would fight vigorously to practice this right freely, yet they continually capitulate to their bosses' control. We must address the American people directly and illustrate the point that even though we constitutionally have freedom of the press in our country, in reality, we no longer do today. This is because the mainstream press censors themselves as part of their core business plan. Today’s journalists know that they will quickly become unemployed if they actually ask unbiased questions and truly seek out the real truth wherever it leads them. Wouldn’t it be refreshing if we could actually watch any news channel today and feel like we could trust them to give us the full story on any given news event or story? If journalists would do what they are supposed to do, and equally and fairly use their training to investigate all organizations, entities of power, influencers, leaders, political figures, political parties, corporations, and unions, and robustly seek out and report any wrongdoing or corruption, our government and other systems would actually work so much more efficiently and effectively! Clearly, wherever there is a center of power, corruption almost always rears its ugly head at some point. This is why we need to have a way to counteract this problem. Good investigative journalism should be part of this toolkit. By self-censoring, they are betraying our country and its citizens. The American people are being denied the opportunity to make informed decisions because the corrupt media (and Hollywood as well), is controlling the flow of information so completely that a high number of voters never get a true picture of a given candidate. This is clearly election interference, by the way. If more Americans realized that their news outlets were taking advantage of them, maybe they would begin to push back and call them out for their betrayal. We must bring back true freedom of the press to America again! Our future looks bleak without it.

I know from personal experience (well, familial experience) that 60 Minutes not only edits the answers to questions but also edits them in such a way that reinforces their own bias on the story. My father was interviewed by Harry Reasoner on a controversial political subject. My father laid out the case chapter-and-verse for his point of view on the matter. But in the interest of fairness, he also summarized the main points of the opposition. Guess what made it to the air! 60 Minutes used two minutes of their five-hour interview with my father to buttress their OWN point of view when, in fact, he was diametrically opposed to it.
