Hello Cyrus, Italian here. If you had not mentioned it, I would have thought that church was just another Italian church. It's truly eye-opening what a modern booming Chinese town looks like, it almost feels like Turin or Rome. How the heck did Meloni turn away from the BRI when every other European economy has been embracing it?! I believe she suffers from some sort of Stockholm syndrome when it comes to the US.

Thanks Cyrus. Appreciate all your work. I'm from Hong Kong and from an young age my parents did everything they could to get us into the UK for a "better" future. I had never felt at home. Even from a young age I had always loved HK and china. I specifically remember in school when people asked me where was I from, it took me literally 15mins of explaining with a world map to tell them where it was. I am so happy to see people like you explaining to the world what China is like now. I have been in UK for 26 years then decided I wanted to move back home to HK. I've been through the Riots, been through COVID. I was so angry at the west for all the lies they tried to put onto us during both these occasions and I did my best to explain to my western and HK friends and what pros and cons we have in HK and China but noone seemed to understand. I'm glad there's people like you who still see logic in this chaotic world. I hope people can understand there is nothing such as pure freedom, and what China doing is for the good of their people and please see for yourselves that china is achieving this day by day. Every time I watch your vids there's so much I want to say and comment so finally decided to leave a long one here. Hope you don't mind. Once again thank you for your work and I hope more people can come see what we are really like.

Yes but he is not a civil engineer and he just sees the facade. Let him visit the buildings that are falling over and the tunnels that flood and kill thousands. The high speed rail has major problems. Everything in China was built so quickly and ignoring building codes and no in depth forethought. Paid off building inspectors, no problem. Half of the new construction is done with sand from the ocean and it is full of salt which in not allowed. But these buildings exist everywhere and the steel rebar is rotting away. Bridges and overpasses are build with this sand also. This is like the company that buys an old house and does a bunch of superficial repairs and it looks great but it is ready to fall apart. I was only in China for one day and I won't go back until they kick out the government and get some decent leaders that are not totally corrupt.

@@jeffbguarino hi Jeff I am from Hong and frequently visit China on a weekly basis along with hundreds of thousands of Hong Kongers. You mentioned you was inside china for a day and won't go back until they kick the corrupt government out? Lol. Do you have any idea how lives this so called corrupt government has saved and improved the quality of their lives? I really highly doubt your even from China. To be honest. @@jonm57 wasn't my choice to move out to another country as I was too young to make that decision. I appreciate the experience I've gained in my time in the UK whether it was good or bad. Whether my future was better or not by being in the UK for a period I cannot say because I wouldn't know what life would be if I had stayed in HK all my life. So I can't answer u that for certain. All I can say to that part is that I think everyone should experience the world as everywhere has so much to offer for everyone and it will open your mindset to learn and see more to what's out there. I certainly find it amusing how you specifically say Chinese looking searching for better future elsewhere which kinda implies to me that no other foreigners wants to search for a better future. I think in all fairness everyone seeks for a "better future" wherever that maybe. That's how as human beings we move forward and develop. If we didn't seek for a "better future" we will all just be stagnant.

It’s astonishing how Western powers often manipulate perceptions of China. About five years ago, I visited Changsha (apologies if I misspelled that) and was absolutely blown away. I wasn’t expecting something bad, but I genuinely didn’t know what to expect. My three months there were incredible in every single aspect. The people were amazing, the food was delicious, the infrastructure was impressive - everything was just fantastic. I’m not exaggerating when I say this, and I even had to use the healthcare system - which was flawless. There’s nothing negative to say from my part, and trust me, I have tried. You just have to get up and see it for yourself.

Good to see more and more westerners visiting China and see China physically with their eyes. There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China. 1st, to see all the Chinese super infrastructures. 2nd, how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized. 3rd, why China is so safe even for foreigners. 4th, Chinese are super friendly to foreigners and treat foreigners as guest. 5th, China public transportation is super good, modern and cheap. 6th, why they don't see homeless setting up tents and sleeping on the streets? If those western countries people visit China and see all these, they will realize how useless and incompetent their governments are compared to the Chinese government. With so much taxes they're paying, yet their useless and incompetent governments are not able to provide them the same infrastructures, services, cleanliness and safety to the people like in China. Whereby Chinese pay very little taxes or some not paying at all. That is why their governments keep lying to them about how bad China is and how undeveloped China is. The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.

The political class of western countries have been taking donations, aka bribes for the last 70 years. Since the rebuilding after ww2. The same industry giants are the same oligarchs today. They have held back new technology that has threatened their manner of making money. For example fossil fuels and renewable technology. They never cared about the long term of humanity or society because for them. It's always been a talking point, but they kick the can down the road because the baby boomers never considered the end of the planet to be in their life time. Now that the new renewable technology is here and development capacity of the Chinese have arrived. The hegemony is scared and unsure how to do business because their foreign policy is designed around their defense industry. The same industry they prized for during WW2 and after. They have no idea how to do business with other nations other than threats, sanctions, military bases or selling weapons. The real leaders of the western world are the 1 percent rich class, they have no unified direction for the western world. It's power structure is similar to warlords during the Warring States Period of Ancient China or the Dark Ages of Western Europe. It's just a bunch of powerful families all fighting and allying with each other for their own interests. Instead of actual warfare, it's in the form of buying the president with donations and secret meetings. The 1 percent rich class need to realize that their children cannot colonize mars. That humanity needs cooperation and innovation. Stop having the economic system trap so many of the youth into unproductive lives. Addiction, debt traps, mental problems or early death are significant occurrence in western nations. While China also has these problems. They clearly have a better system that rewards integrity and hard working youth. The opposite sometimes feels like what is occurring in the US, where criminals or cheaters seem be rewarded, example being wolf of wallstreet, rappers, organized criminals, etc. Stop allowing shady businesses to exploit the youth. China has many lessons available to the western world. Instead the political class is only obsessed with learning about the authoritarian measures China has. It's a reflection of their selfish nature and low priority of long term planning or empathy for lower classes.

love love Guangzhou. Love the green and flowers all over the city. We were there in June 2024 and stayed at the Conrad Guangzhou Hotel. These are a few observations during our short stay. #1- China is very very safe. #2-The 4 big cities we stayed in are modern with advanced metro and high-speed trains. #3-"Most" areas/streets are clean. We saw thrash on a Saturday night in Beijing party district but that was cleaned up before the next morning. #4- Seven out of ten cars are EV, just from glancing. #5- There are no gas stations on the street. I was told gas stations are in underground parking lots. #6-The kids are tall. Most averaging 6" feet or taller. #7- Squat toilets #8- People smoking under the "NO smoking" sign. #9-The public spitting, mostly the older generations though. #10-You need a smartphone and internet to get around and buy things.

my grandfather was from Guangzhou, and he was foreced to leave China as a teen due to family intrigues and went to Mexico, I never met him as he died before I was born. My father never had a good relationship with him, and thus as I child I never really learned much about my grandfather and what I learned about China was really my own interest as a chill. Now as a 47 year old, there is some sort of calling. It is very interesting, I just felt in my body and my soul (yeah it sounds a bit poetic, but it is true). I even think one morning last year I heard a voice which I believe it was my grandfathers spirit. So I am planning a trip to Guangzhou next year and see what happens. I do not know anyone there, but I am open to see how I will feel and what life has to show me.

In the US, the government loses 50% or more of its time governing because the 2nd half of the administration is mainly dedicated to election campaigns. Congressmen and women sit in their office thinking about how to raise money instead of planning and improving people's lives, not to speak of the needs to cater to the people and companies that donated money to their campaigns. Every time the government changes, the new comer undoes the previous government's policies. It amazes me every time that the American people blame the politicians they had voted in but won't reflect on the political system that makes it so. The Chinese government, instead, constantly think about and finetuning its policies to boost the living standards of people's lives and this makes the country stronger.

@@scroopynooperz9051 China has 5,000 years of history and is among the world's oldest 'continuous' civilization still alive today. Other ancient civilizations like Rome, Egypt and Mesopotamia have since succumbed to history. China has always been governed by a *strong centralized government* in the form of the Emperor of China, surrounded by ministers in the Imperial Court. No doubt, China has seen its fair share of tyrannical emperors who care nothing for the people. But such behavior often spells the end of the dynasty as the people rose to overthrow the emperor in rebellion. Yet in the end, a new emperor rises to take control of China and the system of governance continues as it has for thousands of years. Despite the flaws of such a system, history has shown that a strong centralized government works for China.

That's what they are whining about. If I had been living in Hong Kong when the British turned it over to China, I would have left immediately. when I come across videos like this it makes me just sad that our country is making us miss probably the only and the best option where we can enjoy something great, share, and learn and make the world a great place to live for the future of our children. Its just such a shame that we cant enjoy a great getaway and witness the growth we are seeing right now in china, but our government is completely deceiving the people saying that china is our enemy, china is corrupt, china is commiting genocide to uyger chinese people, etc..etc.. its the biggest shame what this country have become.

Thank you Cyrus for telling the world about China. I am a Hong Kong born Chinese, very western in my thinking and politics having lived in the UK for over 40 years. Having Been back in Hong Kong far more now in the last 5-6 years and ventured more often to Shenzhen. Agreed with everything you said. Amazing transformation ! The modernisation is staggering. The West still has a very biased view that needs to change. Thank you again

I went to that church in 1981 as a young student On Easter day! Fun fact- the priest was officiating in one of the first masses. I remember noticing his robe was a bit old and dusty! But i was impressed that services were allowed!👍❤️😜 i am so proud to be Chinese! 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳

My grandparents were from Guangzhou, who migrated to M'sia almost a century ago. Visited this city during the 90's and would love to revisit esp. for the Cantonese food. We still have a copy of the Ancestors Book which my Grandparents brought over from China tracing our Ancestors roots to the Song Dynasty.

I love Winnie the Pooh! I'm sure he is the best leader in China's history. Some say he is incompetent, I highly respect him. I want to gift honey to him.
