My gastroenterologist told me that diet does not cause or cure ulcerative colitis. Thankfully, I then found the specific carbohydrate diet and completely healed myself. He wanted me to spend my life on medications and possibly even require surgeries. Instead, I am healthy. The SCD Diet saved my life

It doesnt Cause or cure it as its genetic, but it can greatly alleviate symptoms

At first, yes, if your gut needs to heal. The SCD has an intro phase to allow for healing time, so for those who might want to try one of these diets, consider a short intro phase first and add high fiber and raw foods slowly.
