The cable actress has a deluded vision of her body. I am barely 5'4, big breasted for my size and my body has changed in my late 30's. I can't wear the type of clothes that women like Catherine who are tall and slender can wear but I have learned to wear what is flattering on me. It has always been very evident to me that the cable actress is NOT confident in how she looks and has never accepted her body as it is.

Apparently she put supermodel on her CV at one point. Perhaps that's related to the work she did for Reitmans. Idk. Just speculating. She may believe she does have supermodel proportions. That's unfortunate and tragic.

On the contrary, she IS confident in how she looks. Her narcissism tells her she looks GORGEOUS all the time. Every woman on the planet ought to be envious of her and if they are not, something is wrong with them! She thinks she ought to be in Catherine's shoes. Thank God for small mercies that she never got her claws in to William first. He's too savvy anyway. :)

I love my bootcut jeans however, that's as wide as I'd go. I don't like these ginormous trousers at all. Dear God Duchess Del Taco thinks if she wears, Dior or Chanel it doesn't matter what it is and 99% of the time it looks HIDEOUS! Obviously she cannot dress herself, I'd suggest she gets herself a "stylist". If her life is just private jets and concerts, I'm sure she could afford it.

I can’t remember where I heard or saw a comment that Meghan doesn’t get her clothes “tailored” because she tries to resell the cloths once she has worn them. Kinda makes sense because NONE of her clothes fit properly and she REALLY needs to invest in an iron and ironing board! You are very kind in your comments. I am NOT BODY SHAMING her because we are all different but she has the figure of Sponge Bob Square Pants! There are a few, and I do mean a FEW) instances where I think she looks fantastic and it is spot on your explanation of her torso and height. 😂

I'm just putting this out there, but I'm older. I remember really wide legged pants being in vogue in the mid 1970's and I actually wore them! ( not to be confused with bell bottoms, these were WIDE legged) In my day they were fitted in the pelvis area and then ballooned out at the leg area and sat lower on the hip. I was super thin, but I was only 5'7 inches. The trick was not to have them draping and puddling on the ground, and wearing a very slimming top with them.

I wore them in the 70's and loved them. I was 5'8" (174cm) and very willowy....(read skinny at 57kg) Luckily I'm still the same height but not so willowy any more😂. I still love the wider trouser and higher rise. In the 70's they were more "Zoot Suit" looking and called Oxford Flares (never heard them called "elephant anything") and could be very attractive if you were tall....but they did not drag on the ground or puddle around your feet and yes you wore them with platform shoes or (the shoes the Queen disapproved of for the Royal ladies....can't recall the name now...that's what happens if you lived through the 70's😅) "Wedges" !!...how could I forget that!!! I now have new trousers that have a wider leg and higher rise but not the extreme as the models are wearing. I love my new trousers and will again wear them with Wedges!!!❤❤

Personally, I enjoyed this focused video despite now being a mostly housebound, retired senior who rarely thinks about clothes much anymore, and I found your live demo very helpful in underlining the points you had been making. I congratulate you on the diplomatic, non-judgemental & all inclusive advice which you regularly offer to such widely varied types & combos of body builds. Also, kudos on making your videos both interesting & educational, and on your light hearted & upbeat voice & narration style which is a pleasure to listen to ...especially on a bad day. It is so nice to have access to practical fashion & makeup suggestions for those not exclusively blessed with tall, slim, long-waisted, perfectly proportionate figures. Even prior to wrestling with my current 70 year old, obese body, I was (at my very finest ) a 5'2", short torso, non-existent waistline gal - big busted but slim hipped, and never successful at obtaining a washboard flat abdomen... I was also caught between the eras when the ideal female images ranged from a curvaceous 1950s Marilyn Monroe to the 1960s waif-like Twiggy (whilst bearing no discernable likeness to either). Access to your channel would have been an absolute godsend as I struggled, in my youth, to find the styles and items most flattering to my body type and personal taste. I'm sure making your videos is tiring & time consuming work, but rest assured that I very much applaud your efforts and I know I am not alone in that.

Beebs is always encouraging people to ultimately wear what they like and feel comfortable in,even if it doesn't meet someone else's sense of style and fit. As someone who can feel tags, seams and often feels claustrophobic in the loosest of clothing, I struggle to find anything that I feel comfortable in. I wear whatever I don't want to immediately rip off, fit, style, be darned. I would make a terrible fashion icon, though. I think can live with that.

Yes, my cousin married a woman who had her leg shot off by her brother in a hunting accident.. she used crutches (her dad told her it was vane to want a plastic leg!!), until she got a job, she worked and sang in a nightclub, as she could wear a long dress, sit on a stool and then they'd open the curtains. The first thing she saved for was an artificial leg (while most of us wanted a car, or a holiday, or fancy clothes.... just a leg, so she could walk like everyone else!!) I had to admire her, but the tough life she had as a kid, she had a few mental health issues, had a problem with alcohol, she had some deamons to fight 😢😢😢

It’s like the Twilight Zone because I swear The Meg has talked publicly about how important fit and tailoring are for fashion! She seems to “know” at least SOMETHING about this stuff. She did a pretty decent job with her Vogue issue and the SmartWorks outfit, and she claims to have learned a ton from helping with her own wardrobe on Suits. And she did look good on Suits! She was better dressed on that show and in public during those years than she ever has been since. No giant man pants, no staggering like a shaky little foal in shoes that are hanging off, no flouncing around at weddings with her bra out. So how/why has she gone so wrong?! Who knows. It’s the mystery of The Meg. 🔮

She's and old tramp NOT a young, beautiful fashion model or a REAL LADY like Catherine The Princess of Wales who can wear something from H& M and make it look like Chanel or YSL. She looks great in anything and does'nt have to try too hard. High street fashions look like designer wear on this gorgeous young lady.Catherine gets 10000% when it comes to fashion and carrying clothing off as a wel as she does. Skidmarkle gets ----- 0, she looks like a bag person who wears rags and thinks she she looks great, If she thinks Prince William wants her she is absolutely deluded. MM's arrogant attitude is terrible. She has a no nonsense attitude about everything. Especially in dress codes. It was not clear what she was doing when she appeared in public with Catherine. They had gone to watch a game. What did the hat in her hand have to do with it? Same with the Queen too. She was required to wear a hat in the presence of the Queen. But she accompanied the queen with sloppy hair. I am not British. But her attitude was repulsive even to me. There isn't much to say about the pants. I believe she is confused about what to do to attract attention. Everything should be about "herself". She does everything for this.

My understanding about the "hat in the hand" is that at Wimbledon you are banned from wearing hats and it can obstruct others viewing of the game. Obviously Duchy Del Taco was not aware of this rule or she was and thought she'd get away with wearing it thinking there would be no one seated within ten rows of her like the stunt she pulled attending Wimbledon with her friends.

Great video! As a short pear who also has a 28" inseam, this is very helpful. I was not a fan of skinny jeans, as I have tree trunk legs. However, I don't want to look like a refrigerator either! It seems like no trends ever flatter me! It's helpful to see less exteme examples that might be wearable for me, thanks!

Wide legged pants, called bell bottoms, were huge in the 1970s even for men. Styles always come back because there's a finite way for humans to wear clothes.

I'm old enough to remember the "bell bottom" type pants of the 70s. Didn't like them then, don't like them now. And I can't help bit think circus stilt walker when I see anyone wearing wide leg pants even if they look good. But people should wear what they like. If a person is comfortable in what they wear and carries themselves with real confidence, the clothes fade into the background.

I wore bell bottoms in the 70's too. I wouldn't wear them now at 77 but I do love a boot cut jean and I think they are flattering for a lot of people. I'm only 5'4" so I try to look taller and make my legs look a little longer.

This was a fascinating video, the baggy pants are risky for many different shapes. Hearing your suggestions I think will help a lot of people when they consider the next time they buy one. I remember the few times I’ve previously (at least a decade ago) that bought some and I barely touched these pants cause they were: 1)not flattering 2)too bulky that you couldn’t function 3)no pocket, deal breaker sometimes. Had to get used to skinny jeans, but what I really miss is the boot cut, I swear it is the perfect silhouette that compliments most people, maybe could even save Markle’s fashion disasters. Maybe. There is something about a gentle hug around the thighs to gravitate to a simple flare after the knees that lets your ankles breath while showing off your shoes that has a solution to help balance the look. Hope the high rise won’t go out cause that was the previous problem when boot cuts were in was the lack of options to get something higher than a midrise. Can’t wait to see the next video!

I've always favored flared, boot cut or even occasionally certain specific 'wide leg' pants. I grew up with what we used to call bell-bottoms back in the 60's & 70's. It's all about the cut, fit & length. I hate the whole pleated front, baggy style that Meghan tries to wear. The length is particularly important, (especially when they either drag on the floor or look like floods). Catherine wears them beautifully, always fitted to perfection & exactly the right length. I'm 5'6", but have very long legs & I always wear heels. I look better in mid rise, fitted & flared, rather than tight, skinny leg pants. My personal pet peeve is when pants are worn too short, I think it looks ridiculous, even on the most beautiful women. The most important thing is to feel good in what you wear, regardless of what's "in style" at the moment. You always have such excellent advice, suggesting options for what best flatters different body types. Thanks for another informative & entertaining video. Luv ya Honey! 💖

This is a really great assessment of how wide leg pants work -& how they don’t. As a teacher in the 90s I found them excellent because they seemed ‘formal’ but I could get down/up off the floor easily. I’m short but I have a long torso, so when I sewed them they were never too wide, & fitted REALLY well around hips, waist & bottom. Also, I found black worked well for me. I remember they had no pleats (mainly because on my height it would’ve looked bad). I don’t see many people wear them in Australia at the moment, however. Thank you for another great video Beebs: you’ve been working hard on getting so much content out! ❤️🇦🇺❤️🙏

I’m very heavy & super fond of what you called the “double skirt” pants. They look pretty good on me with a long flowy tunic over them. I’m tall, so this doesn’t shorten my legs. I wear very bright patterns & a solid top. It’s fun & funky. Plus, I can wear one of my many necklaces. Maybe it’s dated, but it works for me. I don’t really care much if other people don’t like it, as I’m 54 & not necessarily trying to follow trends, just buy what I like & is super comfortable. Thanks Beebs! Love from Oregon ♥️ Jessica

Interesting ideas. I probably would never feel comfortable in the new wide leg style, but for some people, think it would be better looking than the super tight skinny pants that call attention to any defects. I was wondering if you might think of looking at the vintage gowns that were worn in the 50's. I was looking at an old movie and some of the gowns were really very nice. Just an idea.

Hi, This was brilliant. I like your "show and tell" (I have no idea what else to call it as I'm not natively proficient in English) in the end, and it's a perfect tool for me. Not that I have a 27" waist and am short, but even so I could see where everything sat on you. I can't remember what you said about your torso length, in comparison, but even so... Please let us have a few more of these gems too. I love the way that your gemstone necklace is getting longer for every video. Yours, Ann

I have four wide-leg pants, all inherited from my mom, but I never use three of them because they feel so bulky. The fourth one is a flat-front, dark brown number that's super soft and hides pelvic fat really well. This proves that, like people, not all wide-leg pants are built the same.
