The Mega Evolution Mystery We Can't Figure Out | Pokemon Legends: Z-A

there's a lot of theories that tie in a bunch of stuff together but it's so hard to keep up to tie in the multiple origins of mega evolution seemingly though the best hypothesis is the ultimate weapon was fired, going up into space hitting a meteor then crashing back down that meteor split into many pieces and spread throughout each regions. the crash from the meteor pieces or the ultimate weapon itself, was so strong how could it not have awakened groudon and kyogre. with this theory it basically would show that to those specific people lucario would be the first mega to them. to other parts it was mega rayquaza who created them since they would see the great battle. and for az and the kalos region the ultimate weapon created mega evolution it's kinda funny to me cause there is no mention of the weather trio at all in reference to the ultimate weapon. in theory it seems strong enough o have awakened them but it's never mentioned. yet there's also talk in the anime about how they awoke and rayquaza created mega evolution to beat them. it's like all these things could be true at the same time together almost like some regions don't know the ultimate weapon happened. other don't know rayquaza kyogre groudon happened really what has me most stumped I guess is those lucario/rayquaza worshippers. hope i'm not mixing up 2 different tribes of people but if i'm correct they worshipped rayquaza and wished, but they also worshipped lucario or atleast were their main companions. I hope i'm not fusing 2 different tribes right now. It doesn't make sense even with these explanations how they think lucario was the first mega, but also rayquaza created megas. huh

I just had a thought. Earlier in a reply chain for a comment I said that Rayquaza's version of mega evolution was a mix between mega evolution and primal reversion. I think a bit differently now that I'm really thinking about it and now think perhaps Rayquaza's form of mega evolution is an older or primordial version of mega evolution. Similar, but different like how primal reversion is different from mega evolution. Perhaps the people of poke-earth thought it was mega evolution and classified it as such because of its similarities to mega evolution, but in reality its a different process

Nope. It’s not a different process. If you go and dig back through the lore, Zinnia establishes that the people’s prayer and wish for salvation to Rayquaza is what creates the bond which is an integral and non-negotiable aspect of Mega Evolution. The lore also states that the Sootopolis meteor cracked open the planet and this caused the outpouring of natural energy that Kyogre and Groudon fought over. Mega Evolution = Life Energy. Primal Reversion = Nature Energy.

Sort of hard to see the body lines in the trailer, but I know Pokémon fans should be worried about the anime character designs continuing to be rejected, since TPCI have DEI hires on their website that even Japan is mad about. The Generation 6, Let's Go, or even the Hikari no Kiseki art style should be the set standard for future Pokémon games, to never turn a series into something it is not, and be able to save memory size to allow lots of fun gameplay features. The Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Metroid games kept their own art style, and managed to sell and play great. I can even take the Generation 3 and 4 character designs too.

Agreed. The art style of the humans were great in Gen8. Paldean humans look so... procedurally generated.

@@Kamiyouni I tend to confuse Botan, Nanjamo, and Chiri as males-and there are women who look like they are on anabolic steroids. The arching head with tall and round eyes together design is a classic that never made us feel tired.

I both like and dislike that the origins to Mega evolutions differs between regions. It makes sense that people from ancient times would believe they're the first because global communication was practically non-existent back then, but at the same time it's frustrating because we don't have a clear answer where Mega evolutions actually stated.

The key factors for mega evolution to occur are definitely strong human feeling, and bonds between pokemon and humans (if you don't believe me then rewatch the cutscene where Kieran angry punch was able to revive the loyal three after he lost to you in a battle). We might also get a new forms (definitely not a mega evolutions) for both Xerneas, and Yveltal in Pokemon Legends AZ. Ps. Gamefreak might troll us all were we end up playing a Pokemon game set in the universe were the Ultimate weapon wasn't fired.

As I said in the video - the bond between the trainer and pokemon must be strong to Mega Evolve but Kieran's situation is slightly different. His jealous emotions are what resurected the loyal three allegedly. As far as forms goes - Xerneas has Neutral Mode and Active mode while Yvetal has nothing.

I wanna learn 2 things with this game. How Mega Evolution actually fits in and how Zygarde fits in to either ancient or futuristic Kalos. Even though I got frustrated with the Rank System in Legends locking me in place in the main story, I love this series more than the Mobile but slightly less than that of Sword or Scarlet. Here's hoping that we get quality like or even greater than in PLA.

The fact that I feel like Pokémon is making the game as though it’s a parallel universe-like vibes is awesome! Have anyone thought of how the game itself look like the movie Tron legacy…. A mirror universe! And that random symbol mentioned looks like a mirror like universe, if you draw a line horizontal across it, it looks like the top part is luminous city sky line and then the bottom part like exactly like the top

Mega evolution should only be given to pokemon that actually need it. Pidgeot and Beedrill were good choices. Sableye and Mawile too. But giving it to Alakazam, Gengar, pseudo legends, legendaries and Diancie was stupid. Mega evolution in Legends ZA is weird since this is not a PVP game. I think not all megas will be in ZA. Latias, Latios, Mewtwo, Rayquaza are some that I don't think will make it in.

@@therealdroganeI would hope for overworld Ability effects to come back too. I do know that making Polocks, Poffins, Pofflés, and Curry Rice did not come back to other regions. Meal Powers are stupid since, even if you are fine with drugging Pokémon, you do not get all of the effects based on the Abilities since the most you have are based on Pokémon types, and not Nature nor sex. I wish to use the Pokémon I have with me as I am supposed to be training them that they can help me hunt.

@therealdrogane I like to think that while Rayquaza's transformation is classified as mega evolution, it's actually a "mix" (for lack of a better term) of Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion. The meteorite(s) in Rayquaza's body are basically its equivalent of the red and blue orbs for Groudon and Kyogre respectively

Maybe the dragonidss didn’t know Rayquaza’s form was different to the primal forms of the two other legendary Pokemon so they referred to it as primal rayquaza instead of a mega evolution so the trainer and their lucario mega evolving was the first mega evolution that was actually classified as mega evolution plus the knowledge of reyquaza mega evolving was unknown to people who aren’t of draconid descent so it would be unknown to people of the kalos region but that is just a theory I thought of
