8:20 As someone who's delved into Halo Wars Cut Content, it's interesting to note that the rear of the warthog and the cargo on the bed is very similar to Red Teams Warthog model seen only in one pre-rendered cinematic during Anders Signal Mission. The 3d model for the warthog is not in the final game but according to a member of Digsite who dug up the model, the in-game model actually has a toggle to render a Nuke. Which is very similar looking to the cylinder mounted on the back of this Megabloks set. The taillights are also very similar, and there's also some cargo mounted on the sides on the cut model too. It's interesting that Mega actually had exclusive look at some stuff that got cut from HW1.

This is fascinating. It also makes complete sense as Mega often get their assets for news sets from the developers long in advance of the finalised game so things can and do often change. It’s great that you were able to find and provide this information for us all. Thank you.

Didn't expect the random covenant locust review but it is very nostalgic indeed.. :) No numbered bags, eveything goes in a bin to be sorted by color then the fun begins. :)

😂😂 Yes, I know , random indeed. It kind of just happened. I just keep being so impressed by some of these older sets that I’m experiencing for the first time all the years later that I figured why not throw in a kind of mini review for those that might be new to the hobby and also haven’t seen it before. I’m sure I’ll come across another set on the shelves that triggers me to do similar in part 3, look out 😂

Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated. It’s funny, I have so much stuff that I wasn’t fussed about at the time but just got because it was on special (like the fire base I got from Amazon Uk for £30 on special back when it was first released, if knew then what I know now I would have got 10 for £30 each) and as time has passed and trends have changed I’ve ended up really appreciating all of the hoarding I did in the early days. Back then I never imagined MEGA would sore in second hand value like it has today. If I had known, I would have bought so much more as there was always an abundance of new product available on special and used hauls on eBay were plentiful for peanuts, I wouldn’t have bought more for profit as I don’t resell, I would have bought more because now that those days are over it’s difficult even for myself to collect like I used to be able to. The old days of collecting were so much fun compared to current times. Still, I’m incredibly thankfully I did get what I did when I did as it would be almost impossible to do it now without spending tens of thousands of pounds. They actually did remake the Locust once for a red VS blue set. Not sure what the name was but if you look around online you might be able to find it!

I believe I have the remanence of one of these sets in a box of stuff to sort as I have seen the canopy piece, no idea if I can find all the parts for a complete set but I think i'll try for part 3!

Do you mean the large plastic battlescape sets (the large plastic terrain pieces)? If so they are currently only available second hand from places like eBay.
