Well, yes but actually the idea for Legends is for the carbons to essentially live/clean the land and then for the management units like Juno to wipe all the carbons out and then repopulate the earth with the dna samples that are stored in elysium. That plan went awry because the Master ultimately decided against it as stated in the video. There is still a way for humans to still come back as Sera and Yuna and elysium itself still exist.

@@calebgoodman3028 The split was back in classic because Dr. Wily would have eventually reformed himself. But Dr. Wily screwed with the timelime and then we got every game afterwards until X5 where time splits again (but retcons were needed to adjust to newer X games coming out) and then time splits again with Command Mission taking place when the Zero series (22xx) should have taken place in one split and in the other split we have X8. After that, no further time splits occur.

Figured I might as well add some details that were omitted. Dr. Light's research was on creating free thinking robots. Rock/Megaman and Roll didn't meet the criteria, as Roll had a buffer while contemplating her existence. Megaman attempted to *kill* Wily, but despite what the translation will tell you his programming will not allow it due to the three laws of robotics that Light made as failsafes. Megaman X was the first robot to have true free will but had to be given 30 years of testing because Light knew that this could have ramifications for humanity. He presumably died of old age but was confirmed to have uploaded his brain in a series of capsules that looked like prerecorded messages. Wily also uploaded his brain to Serges (who tried to reprogram Zero to be evil in X2) and Isoc (who was the one who repaired Zero in X6 and made the Zero Nightmare). Isoc may or may not have had his soul erased, which would explain why Wily stopped being a factor. Dr. Weil has no relation to Wily. The only reason they have similar names was because Weil was called Dr. Vile, a name already used in the English localization to avoid a lawsuit from Disney. He avoided the death penalty before the Zero series due to a conspiracy (namely, he had been judged by his own robots). By the ZX era, Dr. Light's wish of robots and humans living together became a reality. They no longer discriminate one another, though reploids are required by law to have red triangles on their head so the police doesn't use deadly force on humans by mistake. This was taken one step further in the Legends games as carbons are basically humans and reploids at the same time.

The judges are actually good reploids that are too soft and did not want to kill him so they set him to eternal damnation by letting him roam forever on the deserts and ruins he made. Dr.Wile re-programs them after X takes him back in.

This, exactly. The only holes in the lore that are in dire need of answers are 1) who made the Elder/World System, 2) did Master Thomas actually succeed in carrying out his resetting of the world. The games to answer these questions can be answered very specifically by a ZX3 and Legends 3.

Fun Fact: The Japanese version has the characters named after music. Rockman and Blues being Megaman and Protoman as an example. Some characters managed to keep the music references though like Rock and his sister Roll, as well as Bass and his dog Treble.

As a Mega Man fan, I can confirm that Classic and X are literally just "Wily/ Sigma creates a rouge uprising and they stop them" and then when Zero/ZX rolls around it suddenly becomes about full-on war, dystopia, etc. And I haven't even played Legends, Battle Network, or Star Force, so I have no clue what happens there. Also, Reploids are not really considered "servants" in the games- only Mechanicaloids are. (The basic enemies and most pre-X series robots)

Legends basically has all humans turned into just DNA in Elysium while the Carbons rebuild and check how suitable it is for humans to return, but the only human with a body left, The Master, deemed that humanity should have perished and stay as history while Carbons are good enough to replace them as the new humans of the world Battle Network, meanwhile, takes us all the way back to Dr. Light (Or rather, Dr. Tadashi Hikari) and Dr. Wily, but instead of robots, they made the internet, with Dr. Tadashi Hikari being the main man, Wily again drowning in jealousy. Tadashi's son, Yuichiro, created the personal companions called NetNavis, using the DNA of his dying son as the base, these digital entities have intelligence that can match actual humans and can do tasks like sending e-mail and whatnot. The internet is not perfect, bugs and malicious actors eventually makes viruses to do various stuff, these viruses eventually self-replicate enough that they basically became animals in the cyber world, with the caveat that it might make your vending machines spit fire or something. To protect themselves from this danger, NetNavis became armed with combat capabilities and capability to utilize chips data as weapons, fighting becomes something akin to gladitorial sport called "NetBattling". Yuichiro's son (another one, he had two) eventually got his custom NetNavi, Megaman.EXE, eventually crossing paths with Wily who is trying to destroy the Internet, with the equivalent of Robot Masters being just criminals and their NetNavis. Also, Megaman.EXE is the navi that was built using Yuichiro's son's data, making him more like X in a way and also Lan's brother A while after Lan grew up, technology advanced to the point where NetNavis became obsolete, everything is on the air as radio waves instead of online on the internet, and the NetBattling died out, possibly due to lack of viruses to fight and NetNavis becoming obsolete (Battling viruses now can be done with just a terminal and sending the data in cards. Astronaut Kelvin Stellar initiated the idea of BrotherBand, basically using the power of relationship, and made people connect with each other as Brothers (Yes, even the girls are Brothers). Kelvin went to space to try to form BrotherBands with aliens, but ended up missing, leaving his family behind on Earth. Years later, Kelvin's son, Geo Stellar, a depressed loner went out to watch the stars and got hit by a falling radio wave alien, Omega-Xis. After some incident involving viruses, they merge together to become that time's Megaman (Not named until a bit later). As it turns out, Kelvin's attempt to form a BrotherBand with aliens was interpreted by a race of radio wave aliens as an attack, Omega-Xis was the captain of the retaliation force, and turned Kelvin and his crew into radio waves to save their lives. Omega-Xis also took the Andromeda Key and fled to Earth as the key is actually the startup key to the aliens' planet-destroying superweapon. After some battling, Geo formed a BrotherBand with the FM-ian King and the alien invasion attempt stopped, this was followed with an ancient race attempting to take over the world, and a giant meteor with a radio wave dragon inside that Kelvin and his crew have been attempting to hold back with a side of criminal gang to fight back on Earth, both handled by the duo with help from their friends. There's a Starforce 4 that was canceled where apparently Geo turned into a criminal, but it's about as tangible as ZX3 and Legends 3

Basically, Battle Network and Star Force are from an alternate universe where the Dr. Light there researched on internet networks instead of free thinking robots. Dr. Wily instead pursuing the robots instead. the Mega Man there is data program made somewhat like a Siri in everyday modern life. Star Force is the 200 year timeskip of this series, but now they use advanced technology and replaced the internet with electromagnetic waves. The mega man there is a fusion of a pure human and an EM alien who turn also like data for the era. Star Force, while unfathomly cheesy in some ways, has the best story that hits you humanely in the feels. Legends is the last known timeline of the robot era. taking 3XXX years after ZX. Pure humans no longer walk on the earth, the new species are a union of Reploids and humans that would later be called the Carbons. The Mega Man there is a Carbon. If you plan on playing Battle Network, the Legacy collection is here for you, and as for star force the 3rd game is absolutely the best, but i recommend playing the whole trilogy if you like the story of Mega man games.

Sigma did little more than just a few uprising... He infected entire cities, and almost made all life on Earth go extinct in X5. The X series is easily one of the most brutal eras of the entire MegaMan timeline, it's just unlike the Zero series which at least had 3 primary antagonists, could all just be blamed on 1 semi immortal guy. Also, the Reploids may have bit been "servants" at the same capacity as Robot Masters, but they totally were treated as 2nd class citizens, as human rights always got priority over them.

So one thing the video didnt mention that is kind of interesting and funny, there is a law that was passed that all reploids must be given a lifespan similar to humans, and humans must replace parts of their bodies with machines after reaching a certain age so that humans and reploids can be more similar to each other. A side oart of that law however is that all reploids have to have a crystal on their forehead so people can tell who is a human and who is a reploid

Humanity is NOT wiped out in the MegaMan timeline. The MAIN overarching concept of the MegaMan series is robots becoming more and more and more and more advanced and lifelike and mimicking organics, while humans become more and more and more and more cybernetic, and eventually they meet in the middle at a point where no one can really tell them apart anymore, and they're simply considered a single species - Carbons. MegaMan Legends concerns a sort of DNA "ark" system that intends to wipe out all the carbons and use old pure human DNA to resurrect original humanity. Which ignores that the carbons ARE the evolution of original humanity. The Master realizes the carbons are happy and living good lives compared to his boring utopian lonely life as the last human, so he decides it's fucking stupid to murder all these happy carbons just to bring back miserable humans like himself, so he sends MegaMan down to Earth (he lives on the Moon(Elysium)) to ensure that the carbon genocide can't happen. MegaMan has no REAL idea what he's doing for most of it, since he stored his original memories i his robot monkey Data to keep them safe, but he ends up stumbling into the plot and stopping it anyways.

One fun thing about the whole human/carbon situation is that, more likely than not, both are about equally as much mechanical/biological. Even by the time of ZX humans and reploids are beginning to converge into one species. So when they say The Master was the last human, it's unlikely that he's a baseline human, and is basically half human and half-reploid more likely than not. He was 3,000 years old after all. As opposed to the carbons who are artificially created. But also reproduce like humans and seem almost fully biological. Except they're also capable of merging with technology apparently, hence why so many have mechanical limbs and parts. So it's less that the robots inherit the world and more that it's just kind of pointless to argue what a robot even is. I mean I genuinely don't understand what the Megaman units actually are. They obviously aren't humans, and they don't seem to be carbons given their treatment towards them. But Trigger/Volnutt also passes for a carbon so perfectly that he was raised as one since reverting into a baby. Also he turned into a baby and grew up again, so I'm pretty sure he's got enough squishy bits. Really that's something I love about the Legends part of the timeline. Just the whole mechanical/biological divide becoming a meaningless distinction.

Dr. Wily is another example of the phrase: “How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?” There’s also a video by game theory that goes into how this whole mess is essentially dr. Lights fault. I also remember hearing a theory that the maverick virus within Zero was leaking out of his pod while he was sleeping. Which could explain why the reploids first started going maverick. As for sigma continuesly coming back. I believe that eventually his programming merged with the maverick virus, meaning when he’s defeated he just moves to a new body.

The similarities that you noted about MegaMan and Zelda are not as much of a joke as you might think. Ocarina Of Time was a knock-off of MegaMan Legends's entire game format and gameplay style, and Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom are now mimicking the overall framework of the MegaMan Legends series' story. Breath Of The Wild/Tears Of The Kingdom are set thousands of years after the rest of the Zelda games, after the world was flooded and sank beneath the sea..... Games where you're running around the ruins of a once great civilization scavenging for artifacts underground, and collecting ancient technology. And they have a prequel game, Hyrule Warriors:Age Of Calamity, that's a totally different style of game..... MegaMan Legends and MegaMan Legends 2 are set thousands of years after the rest of the MegaMan games, after the world was flooded and sank beneath the sea..... Games where you're running around the ruins of a once great civilization scavenging for artifacts underground, and collecting ancient technology. And they have a prequel game, The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne, that's a totally different style of game..... The Zelda series has used 26 years of people forgetting about MegaMan Legends to hide the fact that it's basically just doing MegaMan Legends' premise again.

Megaman X's reploids (along with X and Zero) have free will and are sentient and sapient. They are nearly biologically alive only missing the ability to die (at first, but they decide to put a limit on their own lifespan later on) and the ability to reproduce. The running theme through all megaman games that invole humans one way or another is the co-existance of both humans and robots and then later on humans and reploids. Megaman Legends gives us the carbons who are biological but can attach/detach machinery to their bodies without issue. They are that running theme realized.

The free will thing is fuzzy. Robot Master don't have 100% free will, but are capable of making personally chances. For example, Bounceman and Tundraman were made for one job, but wanted to new jobs; only having to ask their creators for permission.

The amount of errors this video had on the timeline is INSANE: - Gate created the Nightmare Phenomenon and was corrupted when he uncovered a piece of Zero's DNA in the Eurasia colony - Reploids were programmed to have Free Will from the start and weren't "servants". They helped brought stability with humanity until Sigma said "that's not it chief". - It is called the JAKOB PROJECT, not the Jacob Tower - The Maverick Virus started with the help of Sigma when Sigma fought Zero and infected him with the virus. Sigma was created by Dr. Cain. - In the ending of Mega man X5, it was DR. LIGHT that revived X and was implied to revive Zero in X6 when he came back from his "hid myself replair myself" BS. This is thanks to a dialogue option when Zero talks to a Light Capsule and wonders if Light knew of him which he does if you get the Black Zero armor in X5 where Light specifically tells Zero that he took a look into his DNA and structure. - The reason why Sigma can come back is because he's a walking virus. As long as there's a hardrive somewhere, he can just come back easily. This was explain in X2 and X3. - Sigma didn't "infect" any New Gen Rpeloids. They already have his DNA in him thanks to the newly created Copy Chips that were spawned from Axl, who was the prototype for New Gen Reploids. - Zero didn't sleep to be studied and create Cyber Elfs. The Cyber Elves were created by the Mother Elf who was corrupted by Dr. Weil during the Elf Wars which prompted Zero to sleep for 100 years knowing and believing his friend X would take charge and finish the fight. The Mother Elf was created from Zero's DNA, which is why he can use them no problem. - Vent, Aile, Grey, and Ashe are all humans with modifications that allows them to be Mega Men. ZX timeline shows that humans and reploids are basically nondistinguishable.

Corrections to your corrections: - In the good ending of X5, X survives no problem and takes on Zero's Z-Saber, while Zero takes the full force of the attack. With the "hid myself" bs being English translation at its finest, wouldn't that mean that only Zero was revived by Dr. Light? Yes, I know, the disconnect between X5 and X6 is astounding, but is that not how it goes? Eurasia still crashes, but not at full force, so it doesn't wipe out all of society - Grey is a reploid. Yeah, the original Mega Man timeline is simultaneously bonkers and mysterious. Partly because there are gaps and questions between time periods that Capcom hasn't answered or refused to do so. Such as the fate of most of the Classic series characters before Mega Man X. Edit: That and plans were changed over time. There is one thing about this video that is incorrect due to retcon. Megaman X isn't a separate robot. He is an upgrade of the original Megaman after failing to defeat Zero when he was evil (and both purposely and inadvertently killed the main cast except Dr. Light, Roll and Megaman). Though he is a separate being having no memories of the original.
