The beauty of the tracks Duke was able to put out, beautiful notes and composure. I have been very lucky lately to work with a gentleman who grew up in Kingston in these eras, his insights are amazing.

Who's "they"? It's because "they" don't know what to listen to or why. They're used to thinking the best music is full of lightning-fast, overcomplicated solos, etc. Where Jamaican music is a "tribal" music where all the instruments are rhythm instruments and they all wind in & out of one another to create a whole that's greater than the sum of the parts.

I like very much this song, became one of the classic of modern music, but I think that in the world there was been so many masterpiece of music, not yet discovered. I live in italy and I can tell you that sometimes not famous or shiny songwriters sometimes write very amazing songs. I put here someone of them: Edoardo De Crescenzo - Ancora, Mina - L'altra metà di me / Se stasera sono qui, Mariella Nava - Per amore (after some years from its outcome Andrea Bocelli give to a worldwide success this song), Renato Zero - Sogni di latta / Inventi / Più su. Many blessing to all!
@lawrencenjawe19354 жыл бұрын
@@paolobuonarroti I haven't heard about any of the Italian artists you've named, but I get your point. I've loved reggae for long, since the 70s in fact but believe it or not, thanks to KZbin, I'm still discovering many today particularly the ska and Rock steady era of 1961-1968-69

You are one of many... Jamaican music is not only for Jamaican people to enjoy; almost every country enjoys the sound of it: Costa Rica, India, South Africa, Etc.. you are not alone, and you are not unique, but you do have good taste in music. It belongs to everyone... Jamaica is not selfish with her music; everyone is welcome to enjoy it, regardless of nationally... It's very natural.
