i remember when vlad had freeway rick on, and rick wanted to talk about raymond washington, and vlad just said "ok..." and changed the topic. he obviously had never heard of him even though he talks about gangs 24/7 and is infatuated with the topic he never made an effort to even look up the origins but i legit didn't watch vlad in 6 months, not because i hate him, otherwise i would've never watched it, but because he always has people on that i never heard of for some reason. he might have changed his concept or something. i watch arts of dialogue now.

One last time for the people in the back. If you don't have the background of a KEV MAC, or S MAC, or the two brothas from Compton G and MEL, leave interviews like this to the folks that not only know the right questions to ask, but the correct follow-up questions as well. BIG KEV, you and S MAC done did it again. Thanks Mr Farmer for the interview.

I've learned more about the southern black migration (especially westward) on KMV than I did in high school and college combined....straight like that. The Be-Bop series gave a lot of good info on it tew, as did Rebo, and did the Craig Monson series......NYC, Chicago, and LA drew so many of our people looking to get away from that m'fer Jim Crow.

@1judauhn 2 жыл бұрын
Sounded like Cribs to me 2... You know how some of us talk sometimes so I'm thinking the young homies probably mistaken an older homie saying "Crib" over "Crip" an ran with it! Then again I remember an early KM interview where someone said Raymond Washington invented the term "from the cradle 2 the grave" and baby Cribs we're formed 🤔
@bigbaba4542
@bigbaba4542 2 жыл бұрын
@@1judauhn it's also possible the term baby brought the confusion. with baby avenues or baby slausons it's pretty obvious what it means, but if you but the word baby in front of the word crip it becomes baby crib but i think when big ron ron said that it was crips, it was crips but there is still confusion, with the information that is out now, on who was crippled one, raymonds brother, raymond, or victor adams. but they probably have the information to put it all to rest. probably when the documentary comes out.

I see you keep bringing that up on various KevMac feeds . And you’re right - they did. And many of them express remorse for their deeds - and many of them are giving back to the community in their own way. These interviews objectively uncover the historic aspect of the Crip evolution. If you’re bothered by what these individuals did - then why do you watch KevMac? Unforgiving as you may be - just keep in mind that this was an entirely different era with a completely unique environment and energy. I remember the vibe - and trust me, it was compelling, alluring and highly attractive. For a young kid - it was simply cool, with all the privileges one could ever want. But I wasn’t cut out to devote the time required to be successful in the game. Nonetheless - many of these men have more character and integrity than a corrupt lawyer or unscrupulous doctor. Honor and heart are not necessarily determined by one’s career choice.
@balthazarbratt8194
@balthazarbratt8194 2 жыл бұрын
@@slagwill5599 I hear what you're saying, but I'm a byproduct of these men. I was born into a Los Angeles that was is plauged by gang warfare. To this day I can't walk the city without the fear of being shot by another brother simply for being in the wrong place. How ridiculous is that? And to say they are remorseful is somewhat laughable. Most of these OGs go back to their hood and are glamourized, and are very much still in the vibe and culture of destruction. All that giving back to the community is bullshit. They are in non profits and are paid for whatever "gang intervention" they do. But like I said. I appreciate the history being told. At least we know how the bullshit started .
@slagwill5599
@slagwill5599 2 жыл бұрын
@@balthazarbratt8194 I get you’re angry and critical - judgmental and condescending. Channel that animosity towards something positive, it’ll prove healthier for you than complaining about men who’ve made mistakes. I grew up this LA miasma and participated in it to a degree - and true our generation made terrible choices. Most of us have to live with our personal failures in this respect. - But truly, it’s NOT laughable - I didn’t say “most” - I said “many”. A lot of this is glamorized, especially now because this culture is fascinating to many and even duplicated in other countries - and many are still stuck, generationally like the Chicano gangs of East Los. But far be it for you to act like you know another man’s heart though- how can you really claim if a man is sincere or not if his actions prove his words? - in this new age, many of these men want to give back and effect some type of change in the community. And humans will always have their defects and shortcomings -- even you.
