Enjoying this brilliant piece of radio comedy immensely. Today is April 26th - 2022. Little did the scriptwriters suspect or imagine that the joke about Lennox Brown being able to marry Lamb (Lamb’s interjection that they are both men so couldn’t marry each other is a bit lame now that we have same sex marriage in so many countries…) would actually be redundant one day. 🙂

There is another episode where they are bandying around statistics and one mentions that 50% of people who get married are men and, coincidentally, 50% women. Though thinking about it that is just as possible nowdays with same sex marriage! But I suspect it is not exactly 50% now.

Agreeing with Thorvald's comments. (below) It makes you realise how much the times are changing, and so rapidly too. Nonetheless, the humour is absolutely timeless. Thanks "Buss Tv" 😃

I thought that all modern warships was covered in armoured plates? that Canon ball shouldn't have made any damage to it

It is a comedy, not an historical romp made after intense research into the facts of naval warfare. Every brilliant episode contains some factual errors - purely to add to its farcical loveliness. A brilliantly performed & written series of radio comedies that could only have come from the U.K.. I’m only 25 and I think they are tons better than some of the sad excuses that pass for comedy today!

Fact picking could distract you from the wonderfully madcap & absurd comedy. 😊

they normally put up the sails so the winds would pull the ship along. but I guess the people from London didn't know that
