@@inkedEx fr. nobody will see this comment, but asking for a credit limit increase if you have always paid everything off consistently for a year or 2 is a good thing because the credit bureaus judge you based off the percentage of your credit limit used. So if you only have $1000 credit limit starting out and you pay your car payment & phone bill for $500 then what they see when they check is that lil bro's regularly using 50% of the money he has access to... seems irresponsible af because you're always a little too close to having it maxxed out. Also some credit cards that have yearly fees are actually worth it for the rewards/cashback if your situation is ideal for it. Like if you're in a situation where you spend a lot of money on travel, some cards will give more cashback for travel purchases so it might work out in your favor if you do the math.

Also one thing he forgot to mention is don't spend over 30% of your credit limit in the first 2 years. Everytime you go over like 50% of your credit limit you get less good points to your credit score and even notes put on your credit report saying in business talk you're basically living off your credit card. Your credit report should reflect that not only do you payback loans but you are also responsible with your money so if anything happens like a medical issue or loss of income you won't be immediately in serious debt to everyone you owe money too.
