I am not a troll, I live in the Mendips, and I'd rather wind farms than fracking any day! Unless you want to light your home with candles, we need electricity, and it's better to use renewable generation - we don't have much hydro in the mendips to speak of (maybe there should be a bit more) and windfarms in the sea cost silly money. Coal is a thing of the past, and we're running out of North Sea gas. Face facts, people, if you want a modern life, something's got to give. (You'll probably say nuclear - well.)

Wood burning is another option, it is far more reliable than wind, and it is far more efficient! And it certainly does not mean deforestation merely the planting of new commercial forests.

theres a need for clean energy, but why put them where they are not welcome? ocean platform wind turbines are just as good, or even better for that matter. why not harness the ocean motion as well? :D

411,000+ Tonnes of CO² to make one 500' turbine is not exactly clean energy. With China production standards of allowing 3x that amount into the atmosphere, that is 1.2 million + tonnes "Not so Green"
