So Jane's process is really sound. He doesn't bother letting himself get confused by what's being told to him or the presentation of the facts by someone else. He observes and then moves on once he feels he's seen enough and then digests each bit of information until it can be ordered logically in his head. Body, suit, girl, doors, office are all presented at the same time but he knows that it's really girl, office, body, doors, suit because he looks before asking questions.

The way he finds the murder weapon is also not guesswork, he looked at the room and realized that the only thing you could use as an improvised weapon is a small, heavy bust of Caesar.

I tell you what, I binged watch ALL 7 seasons of The Mentalist in about 2 or 3 months...I think, and I just can't get enough of this type of exchange between Patrick and the Culprit/Suspect. I mean just such intelligent writing to say the least. I was sad to see it end, but like all good thing...must come to an end, and what a great end it was. I'm waiting another week, before binge watching the entire series again. Love it...

I was absolutely dumbfounded when I learned Simon Baker (Jane) is a Brit. There’s only ONE scene when he fails to hide his British accent: At the recovery center when he’s sitting behind the doctor’s desk, shaking two pill bottles while taunting the CEO, “Uppers, downers, uppers, downers, Doc you’re so ROCK AND ROLL!” DCI Luther says the same line “It’s not very rock and roll is it? It’s not very David Bowie.” Brits are a hoot!
