I have had a 2009 C63 since new, the best car I have ever owned. If you are buying one second hand, check that it has had the cylinder head bolts replaced. The original head bolts fatigue fracture randomly and it is a big job to repair if coolant enters the engine. I have had to replace the engine computer on mine as well. Otherwise a great car.

i have a c63 saloon, at the time i couldn't decide between it and an m3. i looked online for owners info, and one came top for this, whilst the other did for that, they were too close to split. so then i decided to read up on guys who had owned both, the m3 was just a small amount ahead, but not enough to clinch it. THEN i read an m3 owner who said "everytime i see a c63 coming i wind my window down to hear it go by" that was the clincher. she's a proper bitch in the wet , if you kickdown you end up looking forward out of the side window, the exhaust popping on paddle change down is something in itself. the 21 mpg (nursed in comfort mode) soon pales in sport, and sport plus, and spirited driving means you only need to be able to count in single figures, but it is another world. you're not bored sat in traffic either, you can watch the fuel gauge moving down, you'll get to know the folks at the petrol station well, and it's 99 octane plus, so not the cheap run of the mill stuff. is it worth it?, YOU BET IT IS.

If you need to commute for work and or drive everyday as a act of necessity, the fuel economy is not good at all. But that's not what you buy this car for. Just thought I'd say that in the case someone watches this video and thinks they can use this everyday. Maybe in USA for example, fuel is cheap. It isn't cheap in the UK. I did the oil change myself (easy) and used Liqui Moly and Ceratec additive and it runs amazing. Best purchase i've ever made hands down. Just make sure if you get one to do oil changes every 5k minimum, some people do 3k but I think 5k should be alright. Look for a car with service records and it will 100% treat you right. Camshaft wear affects all C63 pre post facelift including 507 edition usually mileage above 6,5000km. This is due to poor design engine oil hole/outlet on camshaft. This is the culprit to the premature wearing. Many euro specialist shop modify the camshaft to improve engine oil flow to camshaft. Also the racing engine flat tappet lifters on C63 are not meant to last. These wears quickly compared to conventional lifters. To replace camshaft you need to also replace all of lifters. Labour and parts will cost you at least $15k to $20k. If you in market for a C63 be prepared to fork out $$$

There is bluetooth music streaming. Slow shifting, a perception thing, most people would ever notice unless they are tracking it ( and very few do). Glitchy electronics, specifically what ? Definitely go for a 2012 and up facelift model. It has a lot of issues rectified including bad head bolts and the issues of nav motor going up and down eliminated have been fixed including faulty oil pressure sensor and other things. All in all, spend a few extra bucks in buying it and save much more in repairs and headaches. I've had my 2013 for a year and zero issues so far (knock on wood) . Just oil changes and tires. I always recommend a facelift model of any car because that's when the common issues on that model have been addressed by the manufacturer.

Fuel. It always used to make me anxious. Going up hills, the tachometer on the fuel used to go right down low, then slowly slowly wavering up n down back to full or part way,. Always had me thinking unless I was on a completely flat surface for 5 minutes at a time before hitting another long stretched hill in a long distance drive, I really didn’t know how much fuel I really had. It’s very much a weekend car or enthusiasts car, I don’t know if others felt that too in long trips but it used to stress me out, id always be watching the fuel gauge was always a hassle in my opinion. And I’d always top up fuel every couple of fuel stations just to be assured I wouldn’t suddenly run out of fuel on my trip and Whenever I would refuel I’d always feel shortchanged of it never feeling like it was ever on a full tank for very long. 😪 I heard the brakes replacement cost also are 1k each side then you factor in tyres, it’s a lot for maintainence including services. I miss its loud exhaust sounds, but traded in on a more cost efficient C class a year after owning it. I do miss it tho very much. It’s a very iconic car now.
