A few takeaways: 1.Hans Christian Anderson is the goat of children’s stories. 2.It’s really amazing how humans never learn. We have the same problems as we’ve always had. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. 3. I’m glad he changed the ending. 4. Finally what would you have done in the story? Lied? Spoken up? Personally, I’d like to think I’d have spoken up but I probably would have lied just like the rest.

Even if those mistakes happened a decade ago or more & the creator has obviously grown as a person. So more & more we're seeing watered down content & personalities. & that's just not life, that's not the human experience. It's not only an unhealthy standard but an impossible one.

This story reminds me of the time I was driving down the road in a high end neighbourhood in our city. I saw an obviously rich girl walking towards the mall in the area dressed in the most expensive levis you can get, donned with an equally expensive blouse finished with a Gucci bag and long blonde hair. I had to giggle. People are pre-conditioned by the media on how they should look and which brands they should wear to achieve a high level of beauty and to prove social status. Because we are so constantly bombarded with these images we lose the plot. This girl despite all this high end grooming had only managed to look very ordinary. When my son was growing up I refused to buy him any Nike or Addis products because in our more dangerous suburbs every gangster wore these brands. These major brands have only managed to rob people of their identify. But having said that I will say that I have found that if I do purchase clothes I am willing to pay a little more for good quality clothes preferably in a style which is basic and does not age. You can always dress such a style up and down according to your needs. Like you have said if you can wear it going to work and then maybe with the addition of maybe a jacket or a change of shoes go out to a restaurant or another special venue in the same basics it is a good choice.

To ask, were the weavers really the villains here? I mean, the Emperor didn't help his country grow. Only his wardrobe. He was foolish, ignorant, and vain. It would be no wonder that someone would expose his foolishness. Rather, he should be grateful that it wasn't warlords or an angry mob that came knocking rather than just a pair of basic swindlers. So I put it to you that human ignorance is the true villain and the obsession with one's reputation.

Considering the US is going through a bad breakup with someone who shouldn't have been at the top to begin with, this story especially resonates in this day and age. If the story did end differently, it would involve the kid being called out for spreading "fake news", and the emperor storming off to his 19th century equivalent to a golf course (a croquet course?). Also, some letters would be sent out across the kingdom in all caps, condemning the kid with no evidence that he's in fact wrong.

Most of the stuff people are trying to say you shouldn't do to get rid of covert has now came out to be the better thing to do most people have taken out all the stocks in kovid sold out and have switch sides saying no I wasn't that big of a deal in the first place and we overreacted you're only likely to die if you had some other underlying health issues or you were extremely old which is the same reasons why people die from the cold or other minor illnesses and on top of that the death toll is made of look so much worse than it is because if you die from a gunshot and in a find that you had covid you go onto the list of kovid deaths if you die from drowning and I can't yet covid you on the list if you have a heart attack and you have kovid they say you die from covid-19 mainstream media misinformed the world and everyone who try to give advice was shamed and called a conspiracy theorist there was no reason to wear masks and just actor conspiracy theorist was saying about the power it has now been declared that covid is no longer a pandemic yet they still how does a emergency power that was given to them for the covid-19 pandemic and they still have not let go of that power just like all the conspiracy theories for saying they weren't going to do

Mr. Jon "Shot First" Solo, please tell us you're actually going to a Messed Up Origins of "The Emperor's New Groove." That would be epic. The opening reference was a llama face slap. :-D

Also another video for the “Three Blind Mice” song because I didn’t know the full first verse of that song until recently when I read it in a book of baby songs at a daycare while working and it was oddly disturbing for a baby song... I had to change the words that were in the book to sing it to the kids.

Hey Jon, can you do a video about the origins of The Traveling Companion, which was probably one of Andersen's most underated story and my personal favorite

Hey Jon can we get the messed up history origins of The Greatest Showman?! I love that movie but I know it's real messed up in reality.

I enjoyed your information. I wanted to say that first off. I'm sure this wont get read by you.. and that I will be slammed for saying this. but Please don't assume because someone does not wear a mask that they don't believe the virus does not exist. There are those with mental, physical or heath issues that may prevent them from using a mask or limit them from using a mask. I just ask you consider this before shaming others for not doing something or being something they are not. Thank you.

Was I the only one who thought of Panic! At The Disco when I read the title? Edit: I'm gonna sound like an idiot here, but was _The Emperor's New Clothes_ by Panic! At The Disco inspired by _The Emperor's New Clothes_ by Hans Christian Anderson? I just realized the song might've been inspired by the fable because of the lyric: "I'm all dressed up and naked"

I would like to see you do a messed up origins of the Sandman cause in some stories he's good and helpful but in others he's cruel and devilish in some ways. (Or so I've heard) example the song Enter Sandman (Metallica), since the Emperor's New Clothes is a Panic At The Disco song too I thought it would fit perfectly together.

Good on you calling out the stupidity, ignorance that is happening nowadays. I don't remember before all this (democratic stupidity/ignorance) the divide if racism. It wasn't so in my face or I didn't see it. Now I am reminded of it every day. I see the divide now in how people see me...white white. But in reality my father's line there is black german and my mother's side I have Cheyenne plus everything in-between. My sister was dark and I was white. People didn't think we were sisters. Likewise my childrens skin is darker. So thanks Democrats I feel like an outcast yet again. I am do over their hatefulness of people's differences when we should be able to love our differences because each one if us are unique and beautiful. If we are all the same thus world would be dull, boring, and just plain sad. I love the different shades of skin color, the uniqueness of our eyes and noses, the richness of ethnic foods. I hope that Democrats fail in canceling our culture, heritage, where our ancestors came from...

Yes, the Emperor's New Groove has nothing to do with the Emperor's New Clothes. But the Emperor's New Groove is loosely based on How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Fight me.
