Looking back on it, I think I really underrated this area, probably because it went so fast. It really had a nice pace and a good music. Now I'd criticize that the plateforming parts were maybe just a tad bit too short and the shoot em up section probably lacked real difficulty or tension, just charge your shots and win, but still, it made for a nice change of things to do, especially in that part of the game.

yeah, i liked it, but it was over before I knew it. I wouldve liked a shhot em up minigame to unlock afterwards, or maybe just have it all be shooting, and then open up a full level of platforming. with a proper boss, the shooting boss was so easy, it reminded me alot of the robot n Cuphead.

Yeah, the bosses were honestly one of the big flaws of the second part. Outside of the last boss which was fine, the rest could barely qualify as bosses (if they even had one for the stage, looking at you sunken shrine, it was funny with bamboo creek, but I'd like bosses at the end of my stages), which is sad since bosses in the first part weren't as easy at least. Honestly, to fix the concierge, being able to shoot ONLY some of the projectiles would have been a good start I feel. Like, you can almost just shoot your way through and win. To be fair, they're probably not as great at making shoot em up games, so can't expect a fully well made section, but yeah this part could have been polished a bit, even though as I said, it was still a fun change of pace. I think the alternating shoot em up/plateforming was kinda neat however, even if the fact that you just regain health with every island does contribute to it being too easy. And hey, I may sound harsh but I've said so much alredy about this game, it isn't because of any ill intent that I criticize it ,I really liked The Mesenger, but with polish and improvement to some parts, there's such an amazing game to be made, so I end up seeming like I complain a lot about it, even though I do think it deserve the praises it gets and am glad it gets it. Basically I just feel like a teacher saying "you know you did pretty well but I just KNOW you have the potential to do better!"

yeah overal Iliekd it, my major concern being the overall easy bosses and levels, the only times I died was when I was rushing, or when I was trying for seals ( like that one in searing crags ) I was hoping for a harder difficulty - and I found out you cannot beat the game without upgrades, sadly. my main main issue is the travelling got so damn boring and tedious. We needed a quick travel mechanic, or at least a way to return to the tower of time at will. It was super annoying going back to get the screenshots for these songs, simply because I had to go through autmn hills a million times, over and over = = or like, go to catacombs, I was saying - hey, i'll goto forlorn temple from here! toobad you cant , liek UGH. the game did spectacularly, though. So I think we can look forward to DLC, or a sequel at the very least. i still enjoyed it, but much like timespinner, it was too dang easy. timespinner addresses my issues of quick travel nicely, but overall way too easy. The Nightmare mode is nice, but the problem with that is it;s too dang hard xd there's no middle ground.

Exactly, I agree on most of the points you mention about the second part. Honestly I think I did die here and there during the first part, since not fully equipped ninja can't save himself with a well timed hook use from a bottomless pit (and gotta learn to play), but yeah dying in the second part is just seals or rushing from bordeom of travelling the whole map again.Are you sure you can't beat the game without the purchasable upgrades? I know you can't get every seal without the down slash, but hey if I can at least restric my health that'd make for a nice difficulty upgrade I suppose, albeit not really good game design. players will buy upgrades that make the game easier even if it makes the game less challenging. Also agree that it's nice that the game got quite the attention, because if they can learn from: -what worked well: the level design, the good soundtrack to go with the neat aesthetic (Like, I know some of the levels are cliché, but they make these work well anyway, and I really like the original ones, especially the music box as a level is a really lovely concept), the really responsive gameplay, the humour , the twist of not restricting the game to one genre (and maybe other stuff I'm forgetting)... -And what could use some improvement: the second genre, a metroidvania type game they used, could definitely be better (with both the idea of traversing it better , both with fast travel and maybe in having it be more interesting? I just replayed the game looking at the map and going to every corners I couldn't explore before. The new levels were a nice addition, but too few and far from each other when you're going blind), the difficulty curve being quite all over the place but mainly on the too easy side, some bosses, and maybe the monster variety (again might forget some things here and there)... I do believe they could make a really good game. Anyway I've rambled way too much, thanks again foryour effort in making these vids btw, can't wait for the rest of them :)

All of this revamped music is everything I didn't know I needed for Christmas. Having just finished the game after almost a week of playing it as time allowed, so much of the OST really grew on me but I was really torn on whether I liked the past or future versions of a particular area better. every track except for the shoppe theme are identical in structure. rainbowdragoneyes didnt match the shoppe theme up, but i found a way around it, it's slightly out of sync. nothign a lil timestretching didnt solve, though
