THE MESSENGER- Women Involved in 1916 Rising Ireland

Launched on International Women's Day 2021.
The focus on political leaders and military action has obscured the level of involvement and the role women played in the Easter Rising and the Irish War of Independence.
Many independent minded Irish women made a telling contribution to the overall independence movement through various means.
This short video was inspired by the untold stories of these women and was filmed in the exhibition space at Cavan County Museum
