I use to -love- these types of events! To look at red carpet photos and gushing over celebs and fashion. But I feel like since the pandemic, the raised food prices and just the general state of the world - I don't appreciate this at all anymore. Rather it feels a bit sickening and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO extremely disconnected from the real world, from real human values, from real human interactions. I am all for festivities and finding reasons for joy and decadence! But the Met Gala is just an ego and money revolving wheel of celebrity and brands promoting themselves in a jerk circle of exclusivity and privilige.

The theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, Karl was a fashion designer who died in 2019, the theme of the met gala this year is him to pay tribute to him, the cats that your seeing is a reference to Karl's cat, he has a cat, black and white outfits are mostly because he's known for wearing those i think and some outfits that you seen there are mostly a reference to the outfits that Karl have designed before like in the runway.
