Drudkh is one of the best our BM bands. They are from Kharkiv. Kharkiv is a ukrainian black metal capital. Many awesome our black- and death metal bands are from there. Right now russian bombs are falling on Kharkiv. And yep, we have more awesome bands: 1914, White Ward, Nokturnal Mortum, Hate Forest, svrm. Thank's for support!

Beautiful reaction video.❤ Drudkh actually is not a Ukrainian word, it’s from Sanskrit and means something like “ tree”. Ukraine has many amazing bands , including metal bands of diverse genres… but Drudkh has to be my all time favourite black metal band. Thank you for covering. By the way , I’m an Aussie too 😀☺️

Yeah buddy, welcome to the Drudkh family. New subscriber here, came for the reaction, stayed for the emotion. A few great bands from Ukraine, Nokturnal Mortum, Hate Forest (with Drudkh members), Khors, Kroda, White Ward, Ugg.

Great song. Full version is much better I think The lyrics of this song is typical for Drudkh 2014-2018. Its about lost soul with tortured and murdered home, history and future. Well, this song about Ukraine, because Ukrainians almsot 350 years were under Russian occupation. There is a list of Ukrainian language suppression during this time. And its the tip of the iceberg en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_Ukrainian_language_suppression But now Russia did the same thing against Ukraine. There is no war Russia against West or NATO, but Russians imperialism against free and democratic state that decide to cut connections with Russian tyranny and despotism. Ukraine fights for its existance

Man you are new to this band ? Nokturnal Mortum , Hate forest ? Absolute classics Been around since the 90s my album collection is littered with this stuff ! I'm an American/ Italian living in Taiwan , wish i made more friends into this music . I did manage to make a two man band that kicked out a nice EP and full album with s Tasmanian mate ! Anyways I usually aviod metal related react videos but this was good stuff

@@rplanet_ua I agree. I also prefer Hate Forest over Drudkh but both are great

@@SaladPizzaRestaurant I like atmospheric and symphonic black metal more than true black metal, because true black metal is too monotonous for me and the instrumental interrupts the vocals. There is also a cool Ukrainian band Dub Buk (it broke up) and Burshtyn (it's a pre-reformed Dub Buk).
@SaladPizzaRestaurant2 жыл бұрын

The emotion in this song is so intense. Very fitting for the trying times for the band and their fellow country folk. I only found out about these guys yesterday thanks to a good friend of mine telling me about them. Such a good band.

Lyrics Not sure it's 100% corect, 'cause original lyrics in ukrainian. Oh, everyone has fallen to the Nocturnal One Everyone and everything will have their turn Meekly they'll leave the House of Light1 To never come back and join the Nocturnal One The doors will be shut, and everything will become clear And their hearts will turn into marble And each one of them will burn out, wither away without shedding a tear And their wondering will know no end, no end They will linger on as shadows, as ghosts of the night Oh how long, how dark, how measureless will their journey be! They will want to wipe out the memories of the Burning Leaving behind only the memories of the House of Light They will linger on as shadows within the Nocturnal One And each one will become humpbacked and blind Forever looking for a the way back Home, Without ever finding it. (Yakiv Savchenko - Victims of The Nocturnal One, written in 1920s. Ukrainian poet killed by soviets in 1937)

Yep, as an ukrainian, I can confirm that translate is pretty close. Thank you for mentioning the author! It is clear to me now why Drudkh has used exactly THIS verse at current period of time and exactly THIS poet! Oh, and third column is absent in Drudkh's lyrics, the band only used first, second and fourth (the last column in the original verse).

Great band, great music, best context a drudkh song can have

Blood In Our Wells is their best album, IMO. That album is pure Sorrow and Pain, at least that's what I feel when I listen to it. Still hoping they re-record it some day, the sound quality is definitely lacking on that one.

Three of my favorite bands from Ukraine are White Ward, Tchornobog and Drudkh. Tchornobog moved from Ukraine to Portland OR where I live recently but they have family trapped in Ukraine. Drudkh's music couldn't be more fitting for these times. Check out the song Ukranian Resurgent Army from their excellent album Blood in our Wells.

Hey, thanks for your review and showcase of this band. I'd heard their name a while ago, but never listened to their music. Now I will probably dig for more. Like you, I'm not from Ukraine. But right now, like most anybody else on the freedom loving parts of the world, feel very Ukranian in spirit. As requested, I list a few ukranian bands I like: Jinjer, Somali Yatch Club, Stoned Jesus and 1914. Different styles and genres that you may, or may not like but all amazing artits and performers. Since you seem to enjoy Black Metal, 1914 is definitly for you. By their name, you might already guess what their main theme is, right? I leave you with a teaser track, but definitly check out all their albums because they are pretty solid Black Metal. Cheers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnSbpKSNht2Ib8k
