It does take a little bit to get used to black metal, but there are some gems. Drudkth is one of my favorites.

The fact that the lyrics for this album are poems of the poets that were repressed and purged in the early Soviet era for ideological reasons makes this music even sadder and gives it another dimension. There's even a list with a hundred names of repressed Ukrainian poets with their years of death in the album pamphlet, most of them were killed in 1937-1939 during the Great Terror. That's why the album itself is called „They often dream of the Spring” - because they didn't get to see things change for the better, the „Spring”.

Hi Ruben, I don't know much about Black Metal, it's the one side of metal I haven't travelled down, other than Ulver. This band is great though, with an atmosphere that really sucks you in.
