Dr. Petersen is a legend, but man Jonathan Pageau is a top notch guy. This was amazing analysis. I think the reflections that SJWs see in that mirror apply to the rest of us as well. I think you ought to know that Pepe is a redemption history himself. In the imageboard culture like 4chan's, a meme does not die from simple over-exploitation (baneposting is an example of this), the meme only dies when it is exploited by the wrong people, in this case, the those people being the real outside world, the regular guys or "normies", "chads" and "thots". There was a time when it looked like Pepe had fallen into the dead meme category, it had become exposed to the nomies, and thus it was no longer cool, it had died as a meme, people posting pepe would be subject to infinite replies of "dumb frogposter". The same thing happened to the reaction "troll" faces, they were big around 2007, but they leaked into facebook and 9gag and now they can only be used ironically within the imageboards (and not even then). However, for some reason Pepe brought himself out of the pond, I don't know why this happened, but I can pinpoint the time when Donald Trump tweeted an image of himself as pepe as the definite point in which the tide had turned. It is not often that a meme saves himself from death at hands of the normies, but pepe did it, somehow. And at the same time, he may have become the prince. Forever immune to death again, like Disney's Hercules at the end of the movie.

I'm glad you understand the importance of the convergence of sigils, esoteric knowledge and internet culture. It's a new plane of existence that is now finally becoming a real influence, not only physically such as in trade, but mentally and religiously as well. Keep up the questioning and do not be bashful when expressing yourself. You've proven to have a strong synchronisty to "Happenings". Most don't realize that 4chan is a battle between Cabals, Nationalistic Orders and Chaos Magicians. For us "OldFags" as they call us, the ones whom have been here since the days of Anonymous, most have shifted to Chaos Magic and Kabbalistic beliefs. Kek is a deity of Chaos, what brought down King Solomon himself. We have spurred real events from pushing this "Cult of Kek". People believe in this, extremely order driven people are driving towards a chaos that they trust. A void in which may be necessary, given the track of current human consciousness. What a day and age to live in! For every new day it brings exponentially more happenings. Let Kek break the mundane. Peace Be Upon You Brother.

The frog comes out of the water. What is in the water? Not only death and unknown, but also things that are forgotten. The history is in the water. And all humans are coming out of the history, a history that they don't know. So, at a certain point, all humans was pepe, the frog. The middle thing between the known and unknown. And when the left fights the history, the culture, they fight what they have to go back to. Death. Because it takes just a blink of an eye until they are history again. And they want to end history, befor it ends them. Not that they think they dont have to die then. But when they die, they are not going back to what actual killed them. It is a little bit complicated to understand. But basically they dont want to become their own fathers, because fathers die. Or better, get killed by their sons, in some sense. You can see that all the time, that old lefties behave like they are children and expect the young people to take the actual resbonsebility.

Some of Jung’s quotes on the symbolism of the frog: “In alchemistic pictures one sees the dragon that is afterwards transformed into a frog. It comes out of the mouth of the dragon” “the toad (or frog) drinks the milk of the virgin, also the toad is a medieval symbol of the womb” “The idea of the frog in the fairy tale of the frog and the princess… the frog means the healing substance or the healing symbol” “If you think of the transformation of the frog into the Prince Charming, and of the frog fed by the milk of the Virgin, or the Virgin bring forth a frog, you realize that it is simply another analogy; it is an animal symbol of the child” “It is the thing that Nietzsche couldn’t accept… The “ugliest man”. He refused to accept the other side of the superior man because it was too repulsive, and it became associated with his phobia: he suffered with the idea that he had to swallow a frog or a toad; whenever he saw one he had a compulsory inclination to swallow it. This appeared in a dream that a toad was sitting upon his hand, it referred to his syphilitic infection which he really could not accept, it was his clash with the earth, there the earth got him down.” “…the frog is the first attempt of nature to produce something like man, an animal with two hand, two legs an no tail… it’s a cold-blooded little man. One could call the frog in the fairy tale a sort of embryonic man in which the beautiful prince is not yet recognizable” “(the frog and the princess fairy tale) is really a great myth, a sort of initiation myth… the ancient myth that through a violent intervention man is able to break through the husk and become superior being.” “Our consciousness of what man is, of being a human, is the frog; it means man looked at as a mere biological being. But that is only the outer shell of something very much more beautiful and perfect inside, the shell that will be broken through and cast off, either by death, when the beautiful superior man is liberated, or by the intervention of a mystical rite in initiation.” “But the frog, symbolizing man as he is, can only attain to the dignity of a healing symbol when it is compensatory, that is, when it meets an audience, an individual or public, that identifies with the superior man within…" "(we can’t identify with the Prince Charming, or the superior man)… it is redeeming or healing for us to accept ourselves as we are, instead of always wanting things to be different.” “The thing that is ugly and repulsive (like the frog) is the thing that leads to redemption” “The frog is not on the cross because it has nothing to do with the spirit, the frog has to do only with the body, with the imperfection of man.” Jordan being the frog is the clear signal from the collective unconscious that he is the first attempt to redemption of our unbalanced modern way of living . He is pointing out our collective imperfections, our repulsive side and for that we (by the influence of the unconscious) turned him into the frog, which is perceived by some as the ugliest man and by others by a healer of modern collective craziness. Both ways he is attempting to bring transformation, striving to getting closer to the superior man.

Trivia: From this metaphysical understanding infamously the Nazis tried to manifest 'the superior man' to be strong enough in the battle against communism. Politicaly incorrect I believe our 1-dimensional casting of the Nazis as evil, even as archetypal evil has led us to this place again.

I re-played that moment of saying they see Pepe as identifying when it's Trump, Hitler etc, but see Pepe as mocking when it's a stereotype of some 'marginalized' (as in in the present) group. That is exactly what I realized meeting many people in the US when it comes to race. Always looking through their lens and finding exactly what they are looking for, and anyone who does not adopt their worldview, must be blind.

Thank you for putting up your lectures Dr. Peterson. They are a form of media that I actually feel enriched by instead of the usual mind-numbing fair that we're inundated with. I am currently one volume deep into The Gulag Archipelago and it's a tough slog, but I feel compelled to continue learning about these disastrous patterns of human behavior. So that I can better recognize them as they're beginning to resurface in our time. Are there any other books that you'd recommend checking out?

This is the video that sent me on my journey of Peterson, at the start of 2017. In truth, it was because I had watched Kek Trumps Moloch, and was tending towards the alt-right. Jordan, you have saved me, as I'm sure you have many others. I cried during your first Joe Rogan interview, when you talked about reconciling science and religion at the end of your first season of the Biblical Stories, and was given 12 Rules as a Christmas pledge. 911globetrotter liberal, in any form, must have something to liberate. So either he's conserving our freedom to speak on and out about anything we want, or he's liberating free speech from the shackles of speech suppression. He's doing the latter in Canada, so you could say he's a classical liberal. But if he was in America he'd be the former. In any case, we shouldn't be putting the prophet of kek on a political spectrum. He's a prophet not a politician.

What’s perhaps most interesting to me is right at the end when Jonathan is talking about what the most important thing for western civilization is. He says it is the “logos” which he (rightly, I believe) translates into “the word” from Greek. When I heard him say that, it was a “eureka!” sort of moment because I’ve grown up in the Protestant Christian tradition, and I recognize the sort of spiritual ramifications the “logos” has in the gospels, and by extension the ramifications it has over humanity as a whole. In the gospel of John, his prologue makes heavy use of the word “logos”, or “the word”, as it was written in Greek originally and John was saying something very specific about the nature of God. It reads: “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him there was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it...(skipping to verse 14)...The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father full of grace and truth.” Jonathan says, “So we must find the word. For it is the sun that rises out of darkness. The word is the thing that comes out of death and lives again.” My mind automatically started this inner back-and-forth: “We must find the word.” - “The word was with God, and the word was God...The word became flesh and dwelt among us.” “For it is the sun that rises out of darkness.” - “In Him there was life and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and darkness has not overcome it.” “The word is the thing that comes out of death and lives again.” - John uses “the word” to speak about Christ, and the entire Christian faith hinges on Jesus being killed and rising again. “Logos” is hard to pin down in English. We translate it as “word” but it slips also into “the reason” or “the logic” or maybe even “purpose”. It is the word God speaks in Genesis to order creation and subdue chaos. It’s the divine sort of purpose that we feel. I may just be utilizing Dr. Peterson’s comment section as a place to order my own thoughts for my own benefit at this point, but I was just excited to have that melding of ideas happen. I’ve also enjoyed Dr. Peterson’s lectures on the biblical stories and I’m sure he probably references some of these parallels himself. If you’re at all interested in this odd parallel, definitely read through John’s first chapter after watching this.
