Some thoughts while I watched the video: 1:04 Ai can improve tech in general, ar vr as well as cloud computing but what do 5G and 6G have to do with this I mean it is a nice to have on the go but doesn't play into any aspect of the metaverse other than some future ar implications 1:42 you are not seriously comparing a marketing campaign in a free game (roblox) made for children (13 and younger) as the metaverse it has nothing to do with vr, ar or any serious social application. Why don't you instead show concerts in Vrchat or any other social vr application. 2:52 please mention the price point of 3500$ which is insane (this just seems like an ad campaign) 3:36 where are the results of this ambition I didn't see anything by epic games regarding the metaverse 3:45 seems like she isn't an expert on the topic. The term metaverse literally defines a space where you can do everything (from work to socializing) there also isn't one particular platform the current applications are pretty "agnostic" Vrchat even allowing desktop and future mobile support. In general you totally miss the definition of a metaverse and don't do a good job on selling the topic (especially for older people). This video also lacks showing practical implications of "the metaverse" and new tech. This type of journalism sucks and is very misleading.

You need to include criticism too. I love my VR headset to escape the world and it’s amazing what you can do. But it also over and underwhelming. For example VR Chat is cool but you have to understand it and get into it first. There is no good UI and everything is in its toddler phase. I haven’t touched my headset in months because I didn’t want to escape the world lately. During Corona that was different.

Meta has lost thousands of court cases all over the world and have been orderd to close down its servers and mark has decided to keep going anyway ignoring court orders so he is a criminal and all meta products r actualy illegal to use everywhere in the world except California. so by using any meta produce ur actualy a criminal as well for backing a terrorist organisation. as thats what meta is.

I think you might be confusing it with Horizon worlds (which meta has mostly abandoned), the metaverse in itself is a technology platform not a actual standalone product. And yes crap like recroom and horizons is full of children because they are free and quest units are cheap. Its what happens when you lower the barrier of entry. You can avoid alot of it by just sticking to either paid apps or hardware restricted places like PC only worlds in VRchat.

Americans have a short attention span. The meta-verse is not a failure. Adoption rate for VR/AR/MR is simply being adopted more slowly than the creators of meta-verse and other VR content envisioned. This will change thanks to the Quest 3 which is the first most successful mixed reality/VR headset. Apple Vision Pro is too expensive but eventually, hopefully there will be other options at a price point that most people can afford. When that happens, The metaverse will be rightly seen as not a pipe dream but rather a crucial part of Web 3.0. Apple calls it spatial computing which is essentially their metaverse endeavor.

The problem with the MetaVerse is that we don't have the technology yet to fully utilize the digital space.. For example real volumetric 3d floating images as most would call hologram imagery.. We're just not there yet.
