Kind of surprised that Raoul Pal would have Matthew Ball on his podcast for an interview. I've read Ball's book (The Metaverse), and he clearly does NOT like cryptocurrencies (especially NFT coins) and is skeptical on the value of blockchain technology. Before I read his book I was bullish on the Metaverse, but after reading it I became bearish because he explains all of the obstacles (which are very significant) to the development of the Metaverse in excruciating detail. Now I believe that the arrival of the Metaverse is at least 20 years away.

As a metaverse citizen already living and building from within, I can say that the real fireworks will start when our communities are able to leverage the latest tech brought up by Mathew. A bridge from our world to the masses would benefit all, assuming Meta and Apple somehow embrace decentralization. Early access through DAOs, guild DACs and such could accelerate things dramatically as we deploy it all toward mass job creation and other paradigm shifts on an epic scale. 👽

Metaverse economy must be based in utility, not speculation, crypto is going nowhere in the Metaverse, 2 differen crowds of users, and do your homework, Second Life is a long run fully fledged Metaverse since 2003, is all there, what works and dont, no Crypto BS

I agree that blindly throwing money at it is not the answer, but digital asset incentive structures embedded in virtual communities with utility and real economies are a totally different thing than pure speculation.
