I'm so happy to hear this morning - my daddy used to sing it to me when I was in a bad mood or acting like brat, lol ....he told me it was the song to sing while he was dropping me off at the zoo, my new home.... unless I snapped out of it. His being silly and clowning around always got me laughing and dancing!

Aaaaaw-I L😍VE this song!!! So happy to hear it again, it cheered me up outa them thurr isolation blues... I've been a Metermaniac since I heard the 1st few seconds of "Sophisticated Cissy", back in 1969. WHOA...🤯... where's alla that freakin' time gone, anyway?????🙃 Bless your dear soul, "Papa Funk"--you are lovingly remembered, every day, for all your sweet soul music, & the contributions you & the rest of the Meters have made to our lives... boogie in peace, good Sir Art.💙🙏🏽👑🎶💚 Y'all saw me through some horrible stuff, when I was just a kid of 22 yrs., & I wish I could repay you for the continuous lift your music has given me. George, Cyril, Leo, & Zigaboo... I love y'all, with all my heart, soul, & old arthritic bones!!!😁 Gonna boogie ANYway, as a tribute to my FAVORITE NOLA BAND EVER!!!🤩😎🎶🤗😍 Thanks, y'all, & GOD BLESS YOU. 💙💖🤟🏽💖💚 (I know y'all will probably never see this, but the positivity of saying--I mean, TAPPING!!!-- it has helped me already, so I gotta dance in celebration!!!😄) OOOOOWWWW.😣

This brought back such sweet childhood memories! I had WTIX on earlier & this came on. What a great song about NOLA living, it's all about the food & the zoo! One of the Neville's is either on vocals or an instrument. We have such incredible musicians & food that come out of NOLA & other parts of LA too! I'm a proud NOLA native & will always love my birthplace! 💜💚💛⚜ 🖤💛⚜ 😋 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Meters

Sometimes being a New Yorker is a real pain..I get words and names wrong that I really ought to know. Hubby lived on Jackson Square for decades before Katrina brought him to NY in October 2005, so he is patient with me. I do catch myself saying dumb stuff like BURgundy street, CRAYole food..(like the crayons?) and Lordy... I only just got the hang of Tchoupitoulas..(which is probably spelled wrong). Be kind, and know my heart's in the right place even if my pronunciation isn't.....when we come back in 2018, for NOLA 300, I should have it right, by then!!!
