I love this kind of content. It's difficult to find or even define. "Content creator discovers some commonly known information about a game had been incorrect for 20 years because of official/mainstream guides being incorrect". This sort of thing happened to the Rollercoaster Tycoon series recently too, I think, but with how the food stall mechanics worked.

One small correction: There was no official MGS3 PC release in the 2000's. I got hit by the Mandela effect. MGS1 and 2 got PC releases though, i must have been thinking of the MGS3 PC emulations after that.

7:44 Although the English version of the book is "not available", the Spanish version was actually "archived"(wink wink) and I just checked it does contain all 53 titles with matching conditions to get them.(all in Spanish) It's located at p.192 but then the question still remains, **if** IGN got the titles from teh book then _why_ they didn't have the numbers? Guía Oficial Metal Gear Solid 3 Tracing back when did the IGN PDF guide came out, I checked "mgs3_ignpdf" link from IGN MGS3 introduction, it was available as early as Dec 26th, 2004(a little more than 1 month after release!). But the official guide book was only available in 2005(Jan 1st). The text guide without PDF was actually linked by Gamespy as well, by which can be dated around a week before the PDF link: Dec 20th, 2004. Still earlier than the official guide book and does contain the titles. I can only assume they either had contacts with the editor for the book or Konami devs.

You’re the boss to surpass Big Boss himself! Just one correction: I’m 99% certain MGS3 did not have a PC port in the 2000s. There’s zero information about such a thing out there; you had to emulate it on PC before the Master Collection. For some reason they stopped PC ports after 1 and 2, possibly due to really low sales.

There was indeed no contemporary PC port of MGS3. I think there may have been some sort of Sony exclusivity deal at the time, since MGS2 also made its way to XBOX. It only went multiplatform with the HD collection, and still didn't make it to PC until Master Collection.

6:37 They're using the Japanese PS2 version's difficulty structure for the guide which is why. It's just weird because it's in English, so you'd think they use the typical structure which was used in the US and European versions. But anyways, they used Easy (Very Easy) Normal (Easy) Hard (Normal) Very Hard (Hard) and Extreme (Same). This structure was only used in the PS2 Sons of Liberty release in Japan, which was actually the second version of the game to come out. Not sure why it was only used there and never again for any other future release in Japan or elsewhere.

The difficulties in that MGS2 guide are correct for the Japanese version of Sons of Liberty, where the difficulties are Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Extreme, which correspond to the Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme difficulties in every other version of the game. Also, there was no PC release of MGS3 before the Master Collection, so I have no idea what dodgy version you're mentioning.

The 3DS version has a results menu on the main menu where you can see all the titles, and after earning one, it gives you the exact numbers for it. For example, the 0 alerts one says "Hint: Awarded to those who complete their mission without exposing themselves to danger." as I'm looking at it right now on my 3DS. However, there are only 27 because they removed difficulty requirements for the non-perfect run ranks. Also Markhor is Whale instead which is stupid.

​If this means anything to you, this AI clone is David Hayter's performance as Solid Snake from his 2000-2001 recordings. Even if he wanted to, he cannot perform in a 1:1 scale as his younger self again. People age, it's only normal, totally fine and acceptable, any new performances he may do as Snake in the future will be different or even better. But this AI software allows us to bring back his MGS2 Snake performance back to life and let us create things with it, that would otherwise be lost forever in time.

That reminded me of the false description in Metal Gear Survive , called "Spit" . 6 years later and is still wrong . Achievement and description : Spit - You skewered 50 creatures using the Foot Press skill The achievement only counts impalements on spike traps , regardless of the method , no such skill is needed . You can use oil traps , air cannons and cardboard boxes to force the enemies onto the spikes and it will count .

The MGS2 list at 6:12 is mostly correct, but not completely. Main issue I can see is the damage taken limit, which is actually less than [11 lifebars, minus 50 points], so while it does equal 10 LBs on Extreme, it's lower than that on EE and higher on the easier diifficulties.
