So, I guess Lemon didn't know the giant spider has a unique grenade option? When you knock it down you can walk up to it, and if you have grenade in your inventory you get a prompt to throw it in its mouth. Think it takes 3 to kill doing that.

Easiest way to beat it, IMO. Though you should always do at least 1, as that blows a hole in it's armor that you can shoot.

iirc the other big use for Acid Rounds against Lickers (btw Acid Rounds have been super effective against lickers across the franchise) is also how it causes them to recoil. Since it sends them flying it has high odds of leaving them on their back, where you can instantly kill them with a quick time prompt if you approach them.

Pretty sure after you started and picked up the first pistol, it made a save and you could have "restarted from checkpoint" and it would have put you in the shop menu where you could have sold Sheva's (and your) pistol for extra inventory space.

Speaking as a Bow main, the answer is yes, you absolutely can do that. It just requires some dancing during hunts to dodge attacks from the monsters.

Okay, so you mentioned upgrading weapons, but I don't remember any explosive weapons being upgradable in this game. So you didn't really mess that up at all. On another note, though, you CAN use your regular rocket launcher on Irving. Considering all the situations where you do have to use guns, though, it doesn't really change anything significant. Really fun video, love getting to see someone use the grenade launcher to get through the later part of the game.

RE5 is a brilliant co-op game, and having done some of my insane challenges like a Professional run with only the starting handgun, I would have absolutely played this explosives run with you. You also can just wait out the first enemies, then as soon as the gate gets broken, just run around until a cutscene saves you.

It absolutely is, on playthrough number 7 or so. C&P have a grenade launcher. Jake and Sherri have one too, as an alt fire. Ada has one. It has been a while, but I think only Leon and Helena do not have access to an infinite skill grenade.

Pro Re5 tip, you can always pause the game and press "restart" to go back to your most recent checkpoint in the invy/shop menu with zero penalties. So the start of the run could have been cleaned up by selling your weapons after getting your guns at the start so Sheva couldn't use a gun if you wanted. Although she still potentially could have melee'd with a knife so take your pick there really. 10:49 - You can actually skip this entire sequence by throwing a grenade and bouncing off the big ANIMAL HEALTH sign which blocks the lock off the door :)

I think what's happening is he's trying to duck so the rockets miss, otherwise they'd have blown up right in his face instead of after going into the lava. Though, from that angle it really does look like the rockets just vaporize his head

The challenge to only use grenades sounds so awesome to me! I played this game alot while growing up along with Resident Evil 4 so these games are my bread and butter. Just in the future if you plan to possibly do this again, I would be more than happy to help! Of course that is a big dream of mine to play with someone who is amazing at challeng runs as you are.

Found this real neat game on steam called nine sols. Super awesome side scrolling game IMO! Beautiful artwork, awesome music and sound effects, fun combat too! You should try to beat the game using talismans only! The best (or only way, I forgot because I haven’t played in a while) to get talisman charges is getting perfect parry’s . I think you’d enjoy it quite a bit!

The acid rounds put the lickers into an extended stun-state, where you can instantly stab them in the heart for a oneshot kill. Not much use in this run, since your knife isn't an explosive, but good to know!

Hey man, you should try Titan Quest, you can get Poison Bombs as early as lvl 3 with the Rogue proficiency and Firebombs a bit later in the Earth tree, also the game is amazing and provides a challenge by itself, good hunting!
