Miami should go after Mikal Bridges and Andre Drummond. Mikal is in a weird position in Brooklyn where he is in the same age range as Bam (Mikal is 27) and Brooklyn doesn’t seem to be rebuilding around him. Mikal is making a generous amount that is very tradable at around $22 million and I think is a player that can help Miami. He would provide Miami with more wing defense, shooting and can be a 2nd/3rd option without needing the ball in his hands. Mikal also provides Miami with more size at 6’6/6’7. Not to mention, Miami would never need to worry about Mikal getting injured or missing games. I also think Drummond is still a starting quality center. He is a free agent this offseason and I think Miami could get Drummond on the cheap. He would provide Miami with size at the center so Bam can play pf where he supposed to play anyway since Bam plays like a sf/pf. Drummond provides size at 6’11, is a decent defender, and a fantastic rebounder since Bam isn’t the best rebounder. With Bam shooting 3’s, I don’t think spacing would be an issue. Keeping Rozier wouldn’t be a bad thing. Having Rozier for an entire season would be beneficial. So if Miami ends up keeping Rozier, the lineup could be: Rozier, Jimmy, Mikal, Bam, Drummond. Lineup has scoring, shooting, defense, rebounding. I think with these moves, this makes Miami a better team and is probably a cheaper team than what the current roster costs right now depending on who Miami gives up. Think these 2 moves are realistic moves that aren’t shooting for the stars crazy.

Yeah I would agree those are pretty realistic. You trading Herro then for Mikal? I could get behind that. I like the Drummond pick up as well but he 100% plays backup center and that’s totally fine. Bam is a center, it’s where he belongs and the team’s offense is built around him being there. I think it’s quite a stretch to call him a stretch as well (lol you like that one haha). But Big Dre totally has a role on this team so I would love to see that! Some real good ideas here!

@@_AVC_ It would probably be Herro and someone else or a pick for Mikal, but wouldn’t give anything more than and I have stood by the fact that Bam needs to move over to the forward. He is the size of a forward and plays like a forward. Bam is the same size as Lebron at 6’9 but playing center. Bam as the forward can do so much more, he won’t have to constantly guard all the bigger centers than him, and Bam can work in the midrange and mid post even more which he already does, and shoot occasional 3’s while the center mans the paint and grabs rebounds. Just think Bam is too small to play center. Miami just isn’t going to get better without size, especially if Miami runs 6’5 players at power forward and Bam who is 6’9 at center

@@00soysauce Nah man you overthinking it I promise. I know he isn’t the biggest center but he makes up for it with his smarts and athleticism. Plus the Heat have made 2 finals appearances with him there, he is a 3x all star center, 4x All Defensive, and an Olympic center. Some things just work and he works there. I like trying to think outside the box though!

Some observations: 1. I think Caleb Martin is going somewhere else for more money, maybe 13MM-15MM contract per year. If he's gone, the Heat should get Kenyon Martin Jr. and give Jamal Cain a 1st team contract. 2. Where is Haywood Highsmith? He can be very important. 3. I prefer Kris Dunn instead of Aaron Holiday, he did a great job in Jazz. Dunn is a great passer and a good perimeter defender. 4. I think the Heat should draft a center instead of shooting; they need more size and help for Bam. Plumlee is not bad, but young teams are becoming more physical, tall, and athletic. So, I would move O. Robinson, draft a Center, and pick Kel'el Ware. And if they can't draft him or prefer a playmaker or another type of player, they should bet on a young player like James Wiseman. Wiseman in Heat culture can be unleashed, and he can bring rim protection (blocks), maybe threes, and quickness. 5. If the Heat decide to keep their 2nd round pick (Protected - Hawks), they should pick a playmaker like Juan Nunez, or maybe get an extra second-round pick for Orlando Robinson to add more young players. If you ask me how the roster should look if they can't pull a trade for an All-Star caliber player, I think the roster should look like this: PG Terry Rozier / Tyler Herro / Kris Dunn SG Duncan Robinson / Jaime Jaquez Jr. / Josh Richardson SF Jimmy Butler / Kenyon Martin Jr. / Jamal Cain PF Nikola Jovic / Haywood Highsmith / Bol Bol (Another Bet) C Bam Adebayo / Kel'el Ware (1st Rd Pick) / Kevin Love TW Contracts: C Aaron Bradshaw (If he is undrafted) SF Cole Swider PG Killian Hayes (Another Bet) Then if someone is available in the trade deadline, they have the assets to pull the triger.

Holy Heat this is a great comment! I love when people actually take the time to do this stuff. I promise I read the whole thing as well. I’ll address your numbered questions: 1. I could totally see it, if so I like those options. 2. Yeah I fucked up the HH one 😅 that’s totally on me. Realized it not long after posting lol. 3. I’m cool with Dunn as well, I like the shooting of Holiday so I prioritized that. 4. Kel would probably really benefit from Heat culture. I would love to see it! 5. Yeah just taking high potential guys in the 2nd round will always prove to be beneficial. Again thank you for this! It was a fun read. I love exploring all the different ideas out there!

Trade Bryant or Orlando for Drummond at Center making Bam a PF full time. Great trade of D.Rob for B.Brown. is it enough cap to afford Harden at PG?? Mikal Bridges is ok idea but my trade opinion is Scottie Barnes & Braun are better + younger

Please trade Duncan to my Pistons - where he'll actually play significant minutes. We'll be happy to send you Monty Williams, our coach, AND we'll even pay his remaining salary. Consider it a "Win - Win!"

😂😂 I love the passion behind this! Duncan would make some sense there for sure! Would you rather have him or Fontecchio? I thought he was pretty good for y’all! As far as Monty goes, I’m so confused. I know so many people in the NBA coaching bubble and they all swear by Monty that he is a great, leader, strategist, and coach. But he did such a bad job managing this team this year, the shit made no sense! I have a theory that there are FO people pulling stings. Why else would he be playing some of these dudes?

@@_AVC_ - The skinny in Detroit is that our GM Brad Holmes wanted a young coach used to working with really young players, Kevin Ollie for example was high on his list. Our owner Tom Gores, being an "owner" thought that getting the "biggest name" available was the better option and he went over Holmes head to hire Monty. The sad thing is that Monty turned Gores down initially, saying he didn't want to coach this season, but Gores just upped the ante and threw the bank at Monty and he finally said yes. Monty is quite clear that he likes vets and it literally took a sit-down meeting with Holmes and Gores part way through the season to get Monty to start giving Jaden Ivey any real minutes. If Holmes hadn't found away to literally trade away almost all of the old veterans on our team by the deadline it is clear Monty would have keep putting the same indefensible lineups on the floor along with in impossible to comprehend substitution patterns and minutes distributions. People sometimes forget that our young core guys are still all college aged - and I don't if it was Monty's ego and wanting to win immediately - or to make the GM Holmes look bad since Holmes didn't want Monty - but many Detroit fans feel Monty did more to undermine the confidence and regress our young core than he did to develop them. Thanks for listening. : / PS - I'd be good with Fontecchio starting and Duncan off the bench but getting plenty of minutes as we have almost no 3-point shooting on our roster.

I’m expecting a Herro or Rozier trade for a two-way guard who can score 20+ and make plays (Immanuel Quickley, Dejounte, Klay, or gun for Donovan Mitchell). Wouldn’t be surprised if we get a big frontcourt guy like Siakam or even Claxton to pair with Bam. As far as draft, I like Devin Carter, McCain, or Filipowski, for the same reasons as above.
