Knicks need to trade Bogan and picks for either Dejounte Murray or Bridges. It works both with team fit and salary cap wise. It also allows the Knicks to not have to trade any key players in a deal. I would get Bridges from the Nets since our Nova 3 want their boy on the squad. Other than that all we would need is a Center & another offensive Power Forward. Andre Drummond would do well on this Knicks team. Someone to pose a threat on the offensive & defense. Should be aiming to get whatever best young center we can get out of the draft. Adding an Offensive minded power forward to back Randle would help as well. Achuwa is purely a defensive player but he doesn’t score much and tends to turn the ball over. Having more size & power on the team is a must if we want to contend against those larger top teams on the Westcoast. Can’t just rely on perimeter shooting and expect the guards to make everything happen. If they had some offensive threats in the paint they could run plays to dish the ball to their big men instead of feeling as if they have to force shots every play.

The Nets are just a bunch of young guys thrown on the same team that have no play chemistry together. They have to do something to change that. Cam, McBride, Claxton, Sims, Alec Burke, Finney all on the same team together is an overall better unit. Especially if the Knicks give up a couple draft picks as well. We don’t need that many new players out the draft. Just a good center & another power forward along with bridges and we would be straight.

The narrative of the cap space is off. The following clears this up: 1. The cap is 141. Limit is 172. 1st apron 179. 2nd at 190m. 2. Assume all the FAs are off the books. Thats 106.5m assuming you guarantee Jeffries and Simms and 102m if you don’t. 3. If the Knicks pick up Bogey’s 19m guarantee it is to trade him. That brings you to 125.5m. Which leaves 46.5 or 51m if you release Sims and Jeffries. This is enough resign OG + IHart. BEFORE you even go into the tax. 4. They also have a 12.5 mid level exception at their disposal to sign a player. So that’s at minimum your 9th rotation player. 5. Draft picks are roughly 2.5-3m 6. So if you trade Bogey and possibly trade him with draft picks you can get a player in the 24-27 million range without hitting the tax.

With all due respect, if you were actually the gm of the Knicks, the biggest question is what to do with Randle. He's eligible for 4 years, 180 million. By any reasonable metric, he's not worth it, but according to the way things are generally done, he probably expects to get the full 180 since it's supposedly a "team friendly" deal compared to waiting to sign for more. Hartenstein is going to take the 4 years, 72.5 million, I'd bet. Also a Bridges trade would not necessarily cost depth. Bojan's contract works in a one for one trade with a boatload of picks. Also also not entirely Thibs fault, but if you switch coaches, the Knicks would have beaten the Pacers in the playoffs in 5 games. You have to be able to find some minutes of rest for your guys. Great coaches do that. Every. Single. One. Nobody in the last 30 years has just played 3 guys every single minute until they broke down like Thibs did with Brunson, Hart, and OG. Carlisle was able to make use of younger/unporoven players.
@_AVC_8 ай бұрын
I hear ya on the Randle extension. I generally don’t touch those in the videos as I don’t think it’s as straightforward to predict/not as entertaining/doesn’t typically change the outcome. But you’re right it’s a discussion they need to have. With Mikal, yeah I thought about that but I genuinely don’t think that moves the needle much for the Nets. In my experience for a guy of Bridges age you’d want a young asset or two. I don’t like the Thibs hate though I’m not gonna lie. None of the injuries came from running guys into the ground so that just isn’t a rational argument. Not trying to be a dick we just gotta be careful where we place injury blame.
@Michael_Page8 ай бұрын
@@_AVC_ Not about blame/hate it's about facts. He did in fact play Hart literally every single minute for 5 games until he got an ab strain. Not an exageration. He AVERAGED 48 minutes per game over a 5 game span. It's also a fact that nobody has done that in at least the last 30 years. Not about Thibs' history. He never played any of the Bulls like he played Brunson, OG, and Hart. Nobody has in at least the last 30 years. You don't believe me, and you won't look for yourself. I have the data, you don't. It's shortsighted to call someone irrational when you haven't done your research.
@_AVC_8 ай бұрын
@@Michael_Page What data? It’s just minutes that’s available to everyone. I hear what you’re saying and I’m not trying to cause a conflict but what I’m telling you is that you can’t blame a coach for those injuries that doesn’t make sense. There is so much medical stuff that goes on with these dudes, and to say it’s a coaches fault for playing someone too much to the point that it causes an abdominal strain just doesn’t make sense. Plus the other injuries were all contact injuries. Nothing you can do about that. Wear and tear happens over the season for sure (trust me I played through it haha and I still feel it). But you can’t put it on the coach that’s just wild man. Even if his whole knee blew out, there are trainers, physicians, recovery specialists that all play the part in signing off on this stuff.
@Michael_Page8 ай бұрын
@@_AVC_ If you haven't looked at the data you are just saying random things trying to sound smart. If the data is just minutes played and available, why not take the time to look up the data instead of pretending to be a doctor? You are basically saying that it is absolutely impossible for any coach to ever play any player too many minutes. That just doesn't make any sense. They aren't consulting with medical staff during a game. If Hart/JB/OG says he's good, he stays in the game. With no medical license you are suggesting that there is something physically different about all 3 of these guys that makes playing 46-48 minutes OK for them but not for any other player in the last 30 years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 OK Thanks for the chuckle. @@_AVC_ I’ve always been a fan, he’s a 3-level scorer with good size, attitude and IQ - but it’s mostly been on subpar teams, and he’ll be 36 next season. I know you saw him trying to defend out there. He is not worth $20 million except as trade filler, same as Fournier. But that was my point - he actually contributes, unlike Fournier, so an upgrade in that regard, but it’s interesting that he got burn while being a traffic cone while that was the same reason Evan never played. If everyone’s healthy, I don’t know that he’s a rotation player. I don’t think it was a bad trade in theory, because it was becoming clear Grimes wasn’t taking that next step, and two bench vets were right on time, especially considering the MASH unit situation at that moment. Burks isn’t getting any younger either, but he’s a pro.. I look at trading Grimes as clearing minutes for Deuce (and Hart and Divo if everyone was healthy), so I don’t hate the trade. But I’m realistic about what Bogey’s value to the team is at this point. If JR and OG are healthy, it’s not really on the court.

This THREE TEAM TRADE will help ALL parties included; Knicks get Mikal Bridges and Jose Alvarado. New Orleans get Mitchell Robinson, Bogan and two first rd from NY. Brooklyn get Brandon Ingram and two 1st round picks from NY. THEN Bk can trade those two 1st round pick from NY plus their two first rd along with Cam Johnson for DONAVON MITCHELL

@AVC_Streams the Knicks have roughly eight first round. Plus several second round picks. You have to choose between Ihart and Mitch. I choose the healthy. Plus you need a point guard that know how to break down the defense when coming off the bench. Bridges can be a GREAT number 3. At times a two. LINE up could be; BRUNSON, BRIDGES, OG, RANDLE, IHART. bench ALVARADO, DONTE, HART, PRECIOUS, SIMS, Duece. And if a star big(freak or Joel) then you can trade the rest of the four 1st rounds, Julius, and Duece
