I really liked the models for the transformers in Bay verse. But, they should have been more distinctly colored, so we could tell different characters apart from the decepticons

In 2007 it was due to difficulties at the time to shoot lighting with different colored cars, which led to Ironhide being black. Some of the limitations of the time then grandfathered into the style of characters in future movies. Luckily the reboot is giving a clean slate to the design of characters.

The first 2 were good, the third was kind of a letdown but still ok. And the last two after that are unwatchable. Bumblebee and rise of the beasts are great imo. they’re also a great start for a reboot. Another problem with the bay verse movies was that it was too human centered.

The producer of Bumblebee (2018) had an interview talking about his desire to keep lots of the positives of the Bayverse (fight scenes, designs) so it’s not all going away. It was an article I talked about in my Filmento BB critique video if you want more on it.

Travis Knight and Steven Caple Jr. both confirmed that the Autobot, Bumblebee is the glue that holds the films together. In fact There were only four Transformers on planet earth in the film Bumblebee, 3 of them were Decepticons (Blitzwing, Shatter, Dropkick) and 1 Autobot (Bumblebee). There is a reason why Megatron is not in either Bumblebee or Rise of the Beasts. Because Bumblebee was set in 1987 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was set in 1994 and unfreezing Megatron before 2007 would be a major retcon. Bumblebee had more screentime in his own movie than in ROTB. To be honest the continuity of the films has been super confusing because continuity is unimportant with these films. Bayverse isn't dead, just fragmented. Paramount CEO Brian Robbins called Michael Bay 50 times for his approval on the Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover but Bay thought it would cheapin both franchises. Paramount confirmed that Michael Bay still has "UNLIMITED POWER" On the live action Transformers movie franchise

Like that completely untethers it from the bayverse because, as someone who enjoys the bayverse, we know that bee has been on earth a while thanks to tlk. I disagree, the two new movies are actually a step up. Optimus primes design looks good and the world looks more fresher. It even helps that the films took place in the 80s. Even The war on cybertron in the intro to bumblebee was far better than T5 & T6 Noah and Elena aren’t annoying like Shia and Meghan fox’s characters. The colors on the decepticons even pop out more in the new films. Everything feels different in a good way.

@@AnalyticalScribe I don't know man, but, for as long as the producers have their vision, it honestly doesn't matter what the director says. Take James Gunn for example! He directed Guardians of the Galaxy, his characters were used in the Avengers movies, and the producers of that film did a few things that James didn't really agree with. Unfortunate, but it's what happens. The director can say that it's a reboot, it's a sequel, whatever he wants. However, if the producer (namely Di Bonaventure) who is at the helm of this franchise currently (sad) says that it's in the same universe, well, unfortunately.
