The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) today celebrates the unanimous passing of The National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act (H.R.2365/S.1064) in the U.S. Senate, sending the bill to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law. The first-ever federal legislation dedicated to ending Parkinson’s, the bill passed in the U.S. House of Representatives last December.

As a person suffering from Parkinson's Disease I am absolutely thrilled at this good news. There are millions in the USA with this awful plague. No two people with PD have the same set symptoms. It's like a smorgasbord of symptoms and all we have right now are symptom relievers. No cure in sight. With the funding of more research perhaps we can find something before more people succumb. PD is on the rise around the world. Please help support PD research so we can find a cure for this disease.

I wish my Mom would have lived to see this day come to fruition. All the trauma and abuse she and I have endured from a five alarm apartment fire added to her demise and exacerbated her Parkinson's. I wish the government would have come to our aid.

One understated cause if Parkinsons is industrial chemicals and environmental pollution. Even though the causes for Parkinsons is multifactorial and complex, it doesn't mean Parkinsons has no cause. I fear lobbying by corporations may further obfuscate these investigations
