WK has a harmonic sense that is so fresh. It’s almost like a painter coming up with new colors when he blows ....mind blowing 🎶

I dig Travis Carlton's playing!! SMOOTH! Can you imagine being Larry's kid and wanting to play an electric stringed instrument? He kills...

It never stops blowing my mind at Michael's chops, his taste and phrasing are just legendary! My only issue is with the gear he was using at this time. Through his efforts with Fender's R&D team and the evolution of the ML inspired Deville amps, his tone these days is just untouchable and I'm thinking that with his newer sound has come a new sense of freedom through that tone. Just my 2 cents worth. I'll listen to Michael's music any day and twice, at least on Sunday's!!

Yeah, if you haven’t heard him on the “Paint The World” album by the Chick Corea Electric Band 2 you are in for a mind blowing treat. Gary just makes every moment feel so good. His groove on Ished is like a modern Actual Proof.

BS.. i love Krantz’s playing but in fairness,let’s say what REALLY happened...Gary crossed the bar line with a fill and WK got lost and couldn’t find the ONE…it happens...simple as that
@Papertrailband4 жыл бұрын
bassrob bassrob do me a favour - count along in quarter notes when the drummer starts doing that obnoxious, “look at me” metric modulation nonsense that you’re referring to and check out how much HE loses where the one should be placed on the grid. He does the same thing around 6:19 - sacrifices the groove for (boring) chops and rushes the fuck out of a bar. Sounds dreadful and is the type of thing a drummer should grow out of by the time they’re 18. That’s not even the main issue though - it’s his one-dynamic (sorry, two-dynamic: loud and louder), I’m-not-listening vibe. I know nothing about the guy and he can obviously play the shit out of the drums but he’s a remarkably bad fit for Krantz here.

the drummer is so annoying. doesn't let Wayne make his solo in peace. he's doesn't even listening
@mikepietrusko57752 жыл бұрын
"annoying"? Thats Gary Novak!! And it shows how little you know Wayne's music, high energy, very interactive improvisation. Gary Novak tours with Wayne when Keith Carlock isn't available too.. Check him out on Chick Corea's album Time Warp or his work with legendary guitarist alan holdsworth
@mikepietrusko57752 жыл бұрын
Gary actually holds a pocket for quite some time for Wayne too, he's not over playing at all 🤣. This ain't smooth jazz 😂
