I'm very glad that I have stumbled upon your channel! You two have very insightful thoughts on the music you listen to and it makes for extremely engaging commentary, and you actually helped me appreciate this album more than when I first listened to it! I will definitely be subscribed and keeping up with any uploads :D I listen to a lot of indie music and I'd recommend the album Rock Island by Palm. It's absolutely unique and overall a wonderful album, a lot of complex rhythms and tones yet a really vibey atmosphere. They also have a 17 minute EP called Shadow Expert which is a little more raw :)

Not a reaction video fan but this was great to watch. It was really interesting to hear your interpretation from it. I've heard from a few different people that this album is about someone going through loss or possibly a breakup and going off the grid in the woods in reaction to it, but then in Samurai Sword he is chased and killed by a bear (hence the references to bears and claws in that track and the stopping heartbeat in the following one) I'm not sure if this is what Phil intended with the story but I think it's pretty fitting :]

It is both literally and abstractly about a breakup Phil suffered. ‘The thunderclouds’ was the beach boys cover band (I believe) that he and his ex girlfriend played as, so the first line tells you everything you need to know. The bear in samurai sword, atleast in my view, is a personification of the girl as he finally begins to stop seeing her idealistically and confronts her in his own head. My favourite album of all time
