In this week’s edition of The Middle East Report, Simon Barrett interviews Pastor Werner Order about his remarkable journey from a family legacy of Nazism to embracing faith and becoming a passionate Christian Zionist.
Werner shares his father, Wilhelm Nazi story from joining the National Socialist Party in Austria and being arrested for his role in the assassination of the Austrian Chancellor by Hitler sympathisers in July 1934. When the Nazis annexed Austria in 1938 he joined the infamous Waffen SS. During the war, he was posted to Poland to train the Nazi Einsatzgruppen the death squads who were responsible for murdering Jewish people in cold blood.
Werner tells how Nazi demons impacted his childhood from being violent and filled with hatred until he had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ who gave him a love for Israel and the Jewish people.

We must never politicise our faith and no matter how right wing a person can be this has no resemblance to being right with God or righteous in any way in fact without jesus nothing can ever be righteous..... So if we become a Christian and then think that our membership for a right leaning political party and our service and activities within it are ways to being an affective Christian is not true.... We are still responsible for our actions as a human being when we come to Christ and if we decide to give our vote for a political party this is a personal decision but we are first responsible for our decision to follow God and the decision to accept the free gift of salvation given by the one and only son of God who is Jesus Christ....
