As a kid of the 80s, this music triggers something in me I can’t explain. I’m in my early fifties now but I listen to these albums and my mind takes me back to hanging out at the skating rink with all the neon and smoke. I can see myself at the arcade playing video games with my friends all day. Such good times with many of my friends who are sadly gone now. Such a great time to grow up, these songs make me never want to leave.

Sad to hear that they are sadly gone. Did they die or what? Or did they just left from your life?
@TheDeLeonGarageCollection2 жыл бұрын
@@GoodCharacterBoy yes, many of them have passed away and some have just moved away which is what happens the older you get
@GoodCharacterBoy2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDeLeonGarageCollection yay! That's what getting old is about and it's kinda sad that that will happen eventually. And what to do during that????? And what to do, anything to get better or feel better during those times????? Can you suggest any? And I don't know if it's God's plans after all that I am feeling lonely for no reason at such a young age (19) in order to be able to handle or feel great or happy when I get older where loneliness will be natural.

I was one of those idiots screaming and regret nothing. I was 100% present to the moment and waited 3 years for this band to come to my hometown. 3 years of singing these songs in the shower, in my car, and at the gym hundreds of times... all this leading to this concert live. Just amazing... the world is full of shit and annoying things happen all around us... but there is a glimpse of hope... a strange sound from the 80s that give us hope and the feeling that not everything is bad nowadays. I love all the revisionist history about the 80s. I'm an older dude and was there for every single minute of the 80s. If you weren't, I'll remind you that there was a non-stop feeling of dread (albeit somewhat in the background at times) during the Cold War and nuclear weapons were on the rise with a sense that Russia and the US could both push the "button" at any time. Just watch the movies. Lots of movies about this topic. Maybe you were just a tiny kid and wasn't aware of any of this...

Synthwave is about recapturing the optimism of the past and, for a fleeting moment, living in a time that was promised to you but not delivered. I'd be so disappointed to go to this show only to find I was surrounded by the worst people 2020 has to offer. Kind of ruins the illusion.
