Here's a partial broadcast of an episode of The Mike Douglas Show on WMAQ Channel 5, taped at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Mike's next guest is former Mouseketeer Annette Funicello who recounts her career from her Mickey Mouse Club days to the present time, and excerpts from the show are seen; next comes a parade of ex-Mouseketeers starting with Lawrence Welk regular Bobby Burgess, Tommy Cole (who became a makeup artist), Cubby O'Brien (at the time the Carpenters' road drummer), and Darlene Gillespie (who became a registered nurse and was making a country record); Mike arranges for an audience Q&A with them.

Mike calls on assembled guests to join in whistling as he sings "Whistle While You Work," Bobby dances to Cubby's drum work and then do a soft-shoe together, Darlene sings "Silver Threads and Golden Needles," Tommy sings "Somewhere" (from "West Side Story"), Annette sings "Pineapple Princess," then all sing the ending MMC song as a person in a Mickey Mouse costume comes out.

I loved the Mike Douglas Show. He knew how to interview people, and could let them simply talk when need be. There really wasn't anyone else like him. (Except maybe Merv, who I didn't watch as much).

Color Television cameras of this generation required an enormous amount of light. Thank-you for sharing. I love this. Things did not work out for Anita Bryant. LOL.

This is just an incomplete broadcast of "Mike Douglas at Walt Disney World", but sadly, the last two segments are missing. I hope someone out there needs to find a complete special including what was coming up after this might be more songs and fireworks. I remember his special at WDW, he was actually there for a whole week, with 5 different shows at wdw. One included him riding Space Mountain and interviewing a NASA astronaut. I watched all 5 episodes, wish someone would find and air all 5 episodes!

Anita Bryant filmed alot of OJ commercials at WDW in the 70s, we were lucky enough to meet her once in Adventureland while she was filming one, she was a nice lady.

This was a great Era in Daytime Television. Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, and Phil Donahue were terrific. Phil took the lead in ratings and never looked back...until Oprah.

To be fair, the first half hour of the show is missing and they may have showcased it then since presumably that segment occurred in the daytime, hence the nighttime part.

@@FuzzyMemoriesTV If I remember right, they were there all week, on location. I THINK, this part, being there "at night" was the last espisode, which to tv viewers would have been shown on Friday. The only reason I remember this is because earlier that "tv year" in the fall of '75, we went to Disney World. I was in 1st grade and Mike Douglas was on like at 4:30 on our local station. When we found out he was at Disney World that week, we raced home from school to see it each day. I can't remember what was shown or featured the other days but I'm sure they showed parts of things around the park.
