To be honest, to hell with what your bosses say unless your only goal is to climb the ladder and make the most money. As a commissioned officer you’re in an extremely privileged position. Use it to take care of those beneath you. If you think our lives are hard as an officer imagine being a private being harassed on a 24 hour basis barely being able to afford their next meal. Our army has completely strayed away from being leaders and taking care of our soldiers, self obsession and the next OER is the new focus.

I would argue that is an overexaggeration of how much money a private has. HOWEVER! I understand your point ! Thank you for your comment.
